Half of Raiden's attention was on what Thanksgiving prep he could do from afar, which was mainly just fielding questions from Alastair over text message as he started working his way through the shopping list out in California, accompanied by yet another debate about whether or not deep frying the turkey was worth the accompanying risk of their brothers roughhousing, knocking over the oil, and burning the house down.

Even with precautions, it was a fairly high risk.

Steve ambled in right on time and looked at the specials. "Pizza shots?" he asked.

"Like a Bloody Mary," Raiden explained. "But with pizza things." He shrugged. "I'm steppin' outside the box."

As if some of the previous specials had been inside the box.

"I'll definitely try those," Steve said, grinning. "Which pizza's your favorite?"

"You know I'm gonna say they're both delicious," Raiden told him. Then he allowed, "They'd both be better with some sausage, but, you know, it's not part of the theme. The martini one's probably more traditional, although it has a cream sauce. The Bloody Mary one has celery on it." Even Raiden thought that was a little weird, but hey, you couldn't have a Bloody Mary without it.

Steve laughed. "Let's do the Bloody Mary, then, and add sausage. Maybe it'll distract Danny from the celery."

It would not.

Well. It was celery on a pizza. "Can't go wrong with sausage!" Raiden agreed. "Oooh, but what about bacon, though? Doesn't that come with Bloody Marys sometimes?...or both."

Gluttony was in the house.

"I've definitely seen a stick of bacon," Steve said.

Did bacon come in sticks, Steve? Really?

"It's called a rasher," Raiden supplied helpfully. "No clue why."

"Yeah, me either," Steve admitted. "What a weird word."
