Summer had barely gotten through the door for her shift that day, and already, she was having to put her foot down. Her timing, apparently, was impeccable, because she walked in just in time to see Apu lugging out a big box from the back room marked 'X-Mas Decór'.
"We still have four days," she insisted. "After Thanksgiving, I don't care if you turn this place into a goddamn Christmas fever dream that looks like all of Santa's elves and reindeer binged on peppermint Schnapps and Malört for eight crazy nights and vomited candy canes and tinsel over every square inch of the store, but you will wait until after Thanksgiving to do it."
Apu, predictably, sulked a little, but he started to turn back with the box.
"Wait, hold on," Summer then said quickly. "Actually, leave the box up here. I want to go through it to see if there's really any good shit I can usurp for the Christmas rager. Actually, now that I think about it, now might be the best time to do a thorough inventory of what we do still have lingering in that back room for some holiday inspiration...."
Oh, no, it was starting to infect her already, too!
