Nell had kept her promise to the squirrels and plied them with rum balls and rum spiked hot chocolate the night before. Which resulted in piles of squirrels sprawled out downstairs in the shop as they slept off their bender. The kittens weren't at all bothered and happily curled up and slept in the squirrel piles while Nell went about the business of opening up the store.

She wasn't quite sure what to give hungover squirrels when they awoke, but she'd figure something out.
