Turtle & Canary; Monday [11/28].
If the decorations around the store (really, though, you guys? Gift wrap around the Squishy machine? That didn't seem...like the best idea, but okay) and the topic of her and Stark's class weren't enough to get Summer in the holiday spirit, the nature of the mass text she sent out to literally every faculty member and adult resident of this fair island that she could find on those convenient directories (and just from so, so many previous other mass texts) sure would!
Hey, everyone!
Time to get out those ugly, terrible holiday sweaters
because the ANNUAL CHRISTMAS RAGER IS HERE!
Well, not here, but at THE HARGREEVES APARTMENT this FRIDAY!
(DECEMBER #3rd!)
Bring in December in the BEST WAY and PARTY THE NIGHT AWAY
Drinks! Food! Jello!
Ugly Sweaters! Karaoke! Mistle-Drone!
You don't want to miss it!
(Text Annie or Summer for more information!
Or you could just talk to us too I guess IDK)
That done, she tucked away her phone (for now) to finish up on her inventory and ordering quickly so that she could get back to sorting through decorations and ideas for the party, all the while very dedicatedly ignoring any acknowledgement or questioning as to why Apu, instead of working, was just making a copy of his own head in apier-mâché.

She also had Pancakes sweater to give her since she had managed to finish knitting the matching sweaters for Pancakes and Rain a few weeks ago only
the mun kept forgettingshe had not had a chance to give the sweater to Summer yet.“Hi,” she smiled, holding onto the package with the hand that was displaying her ring in a not so subtle way and since she had received the text for the party added, “I can’t believe the Christmas Rager is nearly here,”

Besides, she was in full-on party-planning focus mode, to boot.
"I knooooow, right?" she gushed, looking up from her phone where she'd been looking up a few new jello shot ideas. "I swear, it comes earlier and earlier each year. Before you know it, we'll be doing it, like, in October, before Halloween, even."
She did, however, now notice the package Liz was carrying, and the weird way she was carrying it that seemed to...
Summer made a tsking sound as her look shifted from that ring on Liz's finger to Liz's actual face as she said, "You didn't."

She smiled as Summer looked from her ring up to her, “I did,” she smiled happily, “Prompto proposed on Thanksgiving, I said yes,”
Well that part was rather obvious Liz.

"Jesus Christ, Prompto," she said. "Thanksgiving? Seriously? Could you have picked a less sexy holiday for a proposal? Like, what? Groundhogs Day was just a little too close to the due date?"
She was happy for them, really, she was, but it just really needed to be said.

"Okay," she, defeated momentarily, had to admit, "that is kind of cute, actually."
And then she put out her hand. "Alright," she decided, "let's see it, let's see how he did and whether or not I should be checking the safe right now to make sure he didn't pilfer a bunch of cash just to afford the damn thing."

"Alright," she allowed. "Points off for the timing, but points back for the ring. It's not what I would have gone for, personally, but he's not marrying me, now, is he? It does seem very...you."
She settled back again, relinquishing her attention away from Liz's hand.
"You guys thought of when yet?"
no subject
She paused, “We’ve only started to talk about it but we think it might be before the baby comes,” she told her, “maybe as soon as Christmas?”
Which was not really a lot of time to prepare a wedding.

Summer's brows lifted, then she snorted.
"Yeah, well," she then amended wryly, "that tracks. You never really took your time with things before, why stop now?"
Honestly, now that she thought about it, Summer was honestly surprised Liz hadn't managed to expediate a whole ass pregnancy while she was at it.
"And, I mean, that's still more time than when I got married."
Summer, that was more time than the length of that entire marriage.

There was a small pause, though, and a skeptical look toward Liz.
"Are you going to want something on the scale of Annie and Diego's? Because I'm pretty sure that, as soon as Christmas, would be, like, the literal definition of a goddamn Christmas Miracle, actually."

Her hands sort of danced like balancing scales on either side of her. "Pretty full ranger there, but I'm also going to go out on a limb and assume you're also not interested in the whole massacre and/or blood orgy side of things, either."
Basically, Liz, what she was saying was....you had options!

She was joking, of course.
....mostly.
As far as she could tell, Prompto's track record with weddings wasn't exactly stellar, either, so...
"Still, though," she said. "Congrats. Seriously. I'm happy for you guys."
So much so that, look at her, being all good and not pointing out how much more awkward this could have all been based on that bullshit that went down soon after Prompto had left!

Liz knew just how much more worse this could have turned out, she was just glad that she had come to her senses before she had ruined everything completely.
