Fandom Museum- Monday Morning
The weather was definitely shifting towards the colder side of things. That was why Rexy had refused to leave the apartment, instead staying back in the apartment, burrowed under the laundry pile to sleep the day away. Even Connor had bundled up a bit, grabbing his hoodie as he left that morning for his shift.
It did leave him wondering what the full hold of winter would be like here on the island. Surely nothing too terrible right? It wasn't like he wasn't used to the cold. American winters couldn't be much worse than what he was used to over in England.... right?
Having no clue what he was likely in for during the coming month, Connor settled down behind the desk in the lobby and pulled out his phone. A chilly day called for a special coffee order, and he figured he might as well get some food delivered as well. Wasn't like the leftovers were going to go to waste or anything!
The Museum was open and Connor was there to help anyone who needed an excuse to get out of the cold!

He had gotten in fairly early that morning and after dropping off his things, he decided to head round to the museum and hesitated, wondering if his Connor had mentioned anything that had happened while he’d been back home.
“Hey,” he said quietly as he approached the front desk.

It was hard to know what was just small changes in the timelines or what might be changing otherwise. Connor remembered the future predator... how could anyone forget it? But he didn't remember it being as close a call as this seemed to have been.
"Hey, welcome back" Connor said softly, giving Cutter a look. "Guess i should say good to see you in one piece?"

“I’m sorry,” he said quietly, hands going in his pockets as he shifted awkwardly, avoiding Connor’s gaze.

"Just... take better care over there, ok? I don't want to lose Abby, you, Stephen, or anyone else. Not again."

“I made the wrong call, I messed up,” he could occasionally admit when he was in the wrong, “I nearly lost Abby …after losing Claudia …if I lost another member of my team, no wonder Lester fired me,”
He blinked a bit at the last bit, “what do you mean again?” he wasn’t sure if he wanted to know.

"Eh, you know... just hoping things end up better in your timeline than they did in mine. Another timeline another chance to get things right, you know."
And a chance to maybe keep two of his good friends from dying this time around. That would be really nice!

"You're going to want to sit," he said simply as he waited for his friend to sit. And silently Connor hoped this all wouldn't blow up in their faces.

"We lost Stephen in my timeline," he said glancing over at Cutter before dropping his gaze, realizing what he had to add to that next. "And Helen got involved again and really messed things up for the team by going after you."
no subject
Cutter didn’t know what to say to that, he opened and closed his mouth several times as he tried to find the words to say, “how? when?”
Maybe he could change it, stop it from happening.
He would focus on the news about Helen going after him once he tried to process news about Stephen’s possible death.

Connor took a slow deep breath and hesitated, knowing the full truth would hurt Cutter but he didn't think he and the other Connor could keep this from him any longer.
"Someone had to stay behind to ensure the creatures stayed trapped because the lock could only be secured inside. You... tried to sacrifice yourself to be the one to do it. Stephen stopped you... and he died preventing the creatures from escaping."
no subject
Helen and Stephen had been involved and he knew there was still some unresolved feelings there for them.
no subject
Connor was deliberately leaving out the details of Cutter's death until he pushed... and even then, he wasn't sure how much he was going to be able to relive enough to retell everything that happened. If Cutter asked him to he would, of course, but Connor wasn't looking forward to that possible discussion.

He was grasping at straws he knew and Helen would likely see through any subterfuge but surely it was worth a shot.

Connor hesitated a moment as he looked at Cutter and gave a small nod.
"And you do good by the team. They know that" Connor reassured him. "I'll talk to him but Im sure you guys will be fine."
Connor felt a little twinge of something realizing that a good bit of that might be because Cutter's Connor knew what could happen and would feel about Cutter the way Cutter now was feeling about Stephen.
