The Magpie Emporium, Monday [28/11]
For whatever reason, the shop was looking very...neon today, at least where it wasn't black or chrome, and for some reason all the minis Vi had set up last week were now wearing black leather and tiny little sunglasses.
It was kind of weird, how it almost felt like back home, while also being completely different.

"I mean..." She shrugged. "It's a whole genre of stuff, science fiction mostly. All about futuristic technology, except instead of being used to make people's lives better it's just one more thing the assholes in power are using to fuck them over. So you get a lot of stories about the people at the bottom. How they fight back sometimes."
She offered Vi her pick of the skewers, looking at her thoughtfully.
"I'm actually not sure if it's the kind of thing you'd be interested in, or... you know. Totally the opposite."
It seemed maybe a little too close to home, was the thing.

"If you were interested in giving it a try," she said slowly, "there'd be no questions asked if you suddenly changed your mind. Like, at any point."

"I mean, I trust you not to mess with me on purpose."

Not the point, Steph.

"Does that mean you're not going to seduce me?"

Did she manage to do a convincing job of implying that 'making a note of it' was as far as she was going to go? She hoped so.

"Watch where you point this thing," she said, reaching over to cup Vi's face with her other hand. "It's dangerous...ly cute."
