After the whole Square Master fiasco of last week, a surprise shipment of yoga mats caused quite the controversy among the staff, and a debate as to whether or not they fell into the same category, because, after all, weren't they just the same thing, but longer? They couldn't seem to reach a conclusion, though, so they deferred to the boss for his thoughts.

"Do I look like someone who knows that much about yoga?" he prefaced, but, knowing that wasn't going to fly, he sighed and offered, "Look, the yoga mat actually serves a purpose. Cushioning, and traction, so you're not slipping around all over the floor. There's a purpose to them. The Square Master was literally just a square."

The one staff member who remained a Square Master loyalist, however, was not convinced by this argument and decided to just pout about these arbitrary distinctions in workout aids, and so Gladio disappeared into the office for a few moments and re-emerged with a yoga mat split in half, and he handed one half over to the employee.

"There. It's a square now. Knock yourself out."

Of course, this only inspired a new debate amongst the staff, as to whether or not Gladio actually used one of his swords to cut the yoga mat or something else.

Atlas is open!

(And Gladio really needed to find something for his employees to do...)

"Morning," Nell sad cheerfully. Yes, she had on her skirty pants today for easier movement.

"Hey," Marc said. See? Again: morning person. "Steven said to say thanks."

[mylandmyrules]

"For the tea?" Nell said. "He's most welcome."

[hasaknightjob]

"No, something else," Marc said. He tried to think about it. "Cooking."

[mylandmyrules]

Nell waited patiently, doing some stretching, giving him time to think without making his feel rushed. "Cooking..."

"Something he and Watts used Sunday," Marc said. "You left it at our place. He said thanks."

He wasn't expecting that to be enough for Nell to know what it was. But hopefully it was enough of the gist for her to have an idea of why Steven appreciated it. Marc tended not to dig too deep into any Steven and Watts related memories for what were hopefully obvious reasons.

"Oh yes," Nell said, "I did leave a number of staple things there, maybe they needed on of them. In any case, they're most welcome."

And while Nell could not read the narrative, she would certainly have understood and approved of Marc's preferences. She also didn't need all the details.

That was enough for Marc to feel like he'd done his job by delivering Steven's message. If Steven wanted her to have more details he could chat with Nell himself.

"So how are you?"

[mylandmyrules]

"Relieved to not have piles of boxes outside my shop this morning. Yesterday..." she shook her head. "All these misdelivered boxes. Bubble wrap and corn chips. It took forever to get them inside and then to track down the right person to come and get them and take them away again."

Probably not the point but, "Why would you have to bubble wrap corn chips?"

"So they don't get crushed in shipping, of course," Nell said with a grin, then shook her head "No. They were separate deliveries. Heaven knows why, other than 'because it's Fandom'."

Okay, Marc was stuck again. "It was a delivery of bubble wrap? Nothing else?"

Because comparatively wrapping up bags of corn chips made sense.

[mylandmyrules]

"Yep. Intended for some company where they have to package a lot of things," Nell said. "A very big company given the enormous number if boxes of it."

[hasaknightjob]

"What do they wrap bubble wrap in to protect it?" Marc asked. He was being a bit of a wise ass now.

[mylandmyrules]

"Smart Alec friends," Nell said with a grin.

[hasaknightjob]

"Never been called for that mission," Marc said. The deal with Khonshu would certainly have been different if he had.

[mylandmyrules]

"And aren't you the lucky one," Nell said. "But honestly, I'm just glad they're no longer my problem."

[hasaknightjob]

"Didn't try to charge you, did they?" Marc asked.

[mylandmyrules]

"I don't think so, and certainly I didn't sign for them," Nell said. "They were for the flower shop, though, not my store. I left a message for the owner so they'd know what was going on."

"Maybe they were going to throw a Superbowl party," Marc said. "Serve nothing but corn chips."

And use the bubble wrap for furniture, presumably.

[mylandmyrules]

"Well," Nell said consideringly. "I suppose very large bowls would hold corn chips well enough, but if you are going to throw a party honoring bowls, I'd think it would be good to have a lot of different things - like soup or ice cream - as well."

[hasaknightjob]

Marc assumed Nell was kidding, since it was a pretty good joke and Nell had a dry sense of humor sometimes. So instead of thinking he needed to correct her he said, "Maybe that's what was supposed to be in the bubble wrap. The bowls."

[mylandmyrules]

Nell wouldn't know the Superbowl if one bit her in the leg.

"I suppose," she said after a moment's thought, "especially if they were really special and fragile bowls."

"Or the delivery driver had had too much to drink the night before."

[hasaknightjob]

"So somebody got a box of all bowls," Marc said. "Broken ones."

Stood to reason if all the bubble wrap was somewhere else.

[mylandmyrules]

Nell laughed. "Maybe so. As long as it's not me, I don't care."
