Fandom Museum- Monday Morning

It had been a nice trip. A very nice trip really. But they were back on the island, and Connor was attempting to make the shift from one island time to the other so to speak. Attempting was the keyword because he was a bit late coming in that morning. Not terribly so, but still.

So as Connor was going over all the notes from Blathers and catching up on anything that had happened of importance while he was gone, he worked on his extra large mocha coffee. The entire there may or may not have been a grin on his face- there totally was. Blastheres seemed intent on keeping him busy, but nothing was going to shake his vacation high just then.


The Museum is Open!

Cutter thought it would be nice to stop by and visit Connor with a box of pastries and a couple of coffees as well, he didn't have a particular reason, it was just so he could visit and hopefully Connor didn't mind having another coffee.

"Hey," he smiled, holding out the coffees and pastries, "how have you been settling into work post vacation?"

Oh the horror, what would he ever do with another coffee? Connor looked up with a grin.

"Eh, wishing I was still on a tropical island and all" he said and then added, "but it is nice to be back home too."

Connor took the offered goodies with a grin and then grabbed the other chair from the end of the table and brought it over. "And you? Ready to be a Professor again?" he asked with a smirk.

“Well I suppose I better, I don’t want the school to fire me for not turning up to my classes,” Cutter said with a grin, holding onto his own coffee, “I don’t have tenure protecting me here,”

His smile widened, “the trip was nice, we should do that more often,” he paused, “even though I don’t think we’d be able to afford the same island we went to,” he admitted, “I can already hear Lester now if I tried to charge it to his credit card,”

"True.... But, it is better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission," Connor said with a smirk. He shook his head and conceded though. "But yeah, probably would be too much for Lester to tolerate."

Connor thought for a moment and then gave Cutter a grin. "Ya know though, with the portals and all we could go pretty much anywhere for a day trip, maybe one night over somewhere. And there's plenty of places to see around here on the mainland too. I think we could keep ourselves quite busy with road trips... portal trips... eh whatever you would call them!"

Cutter smiled, “I could do without another of Lester’s lectures, so I think sticking to day trips would be the safer option,” he said, “what did you have in mind?”

"Oh well theres always a day on an island in the Bahamas, dinner in Rome, a weekend running around in the snow in Iceland, or just.... Ya know, lunch on the mainland together. Not really picky."

"They all do sound nice," Cutter tilted his head as he thought about the options, "maybe we could start small with a lunch on the mainland first, to see how we go with the portals?"

He was a little weary still about portals given his experiences with the anomalies.

And you know what, totally fair. Connor still flinched a bit, too but he at least had had a little more time getting used to the Fandom portals and all that.

"I think I might know a place...." Connor said with a wide grin. "Wanna talk it out and make plans or shall I surprise ya with it?"

"you know what, I think I'll let you surprise me," Cutter decided with a grin, "I'd like to see where you choose to go,"

"Oh really?" Connor said with a smile, slightly surprised by that, knowing how much Cutter usually wanted to be in control of things. He took that sign of trust seriously and was more determined than ever to find the right place now. "Well, I'll drop ya a text or something, and we can coordinate as far as what day works best?"

It wasn’t going to happen too often but the relationship was new, this was definitely something that Cutter was trying to work at.

“Alright then,” Cutter returned the smile, “I think that sounds perfectly manageable, I’m looking forward to it,” he added.

So no pressure there or anything Connor.

No.... no pressure at all.... Connor was absolutely NOT mentally flailing just then.

"Ah so... so am I," Connor managed with a small grin.
