Caritas; Wednesday [03/08].
Summer squinted at the stage a little when she came in, where the zombies still looked like they were dressed up for Purim, and she really couldn't really tell if they'd just forgotten to take off their costumes, if they'd decided they just really liked dressing that way, or (and this was her strongest guess, really) certain aspects of the costumes were actually, like, load-bearing and were helping to keep them together.
Whatever the answer was, she did not particularly care to find out.
But she did also bring in a case of Spaghetti-Os that were totally up for grabs if anyone wanted any.

Re: The Bar - 03/08.
But not easier. Blah.
"Think I'm gonna need those other two shots." Don't even joke about the spaghetti-os, Summer, she was pretending she didn't see that one.
Re: The Bar - 03/08.
Especially since the topic did hit pretty close to home, which meant Summer's soft smile as she dropped off the two that counted was more than understanding.
"Especially when you can't even text the guy," she agreed.
Then corrected, with a roll of her eyes, "Or call, I guess. Whatever you kids did in the dark ages. Page? Fax? Telegraph?"
Re: The Bar - 03/08.
Just to acknowledge that Summer wasn't too off-base there.
"Though we wrote a little bit at first, too," Nancy offered, a little bit shy. "Jonathan's a photographer, so he'd send me pictures of things he saw out west. Like, real photos. Not on a phone."
Until, you know. Those trickled off, and so did Nancy's calls, until she realized they hadn't talked in weeks and she hadn't even noticed. Or been bothered.
Re: The Bar - 03/08.
Sorry, Nancy. Levity was Summer's love language.
That, and jello.
Re: The Bar - 03/08.
"I used a quill," Nancy told her solemnly, scooping out a delicate bit of jello with a fingertip. "And parchment."
Re: The Bar - 03/08.
Look, Summer had to ask. Around here, you really couldn't tell?
Re: The Bar - 03/08.
And she was also a big fan of microfiche.
Re: The Bar - 03/08.
"Not for the letters, though, right? Because that is definitely way too much effort for essentially a romantic penpal."
Re: The Bar - 03/08.
Until they hadn't, really.
"Texting seems like it makes things a lot easier, these days. Though maybe it doesn't solve everything," Nancy added with a knowing glance.
Re: The Bar - 03/08.
...oh, god, she was never going to be able to send a u up text again...
"It causes more problems, too. Don't get me wrong, I never want to be on the phone with anything that isn't strictly business, but I will give that phone calls do help a lot with tone..."
