Furnado Animal Shelter; Friday [03/10].

Frequent trips back and forth between Fandom and Hyrule, both for his class and for his princely duties, meant that Sidon hadn't been able to spend as much time at the shelter as he might normally, and to make up for it, he not only made sure to bring back a good deal of fresh fish for the cats to enjoy and a bunch of new chew toys for the puppy pen, but he was also dedicating himself to another big thorough fish tank cleaning day!

It was the least he could do to make up for it, and he did, truly, enjoy a good fish tank cleaning day.

And not even because it was still winter and therefor he got some direct benefits from a nice clean fishtank, too!

Furnado is open!

"Greetings," Lilliana said as she swanned into Furnado, pushing back the hood of her purple velvet cloak. "I am in need of a cat. A living cat," she clarified, as the distinction was important.

Not saying an unalive cat wouldn't be useful, but that isn't what she's looking for right now, thank you.

At the sound out a voice, Sidon looked over from where he'd been working on various fish tanks and beamed at someone coming in, even waving an arm in case the person had trouble noticing the nine-foot-tall red sharkman over by the fishtanks.

"Greetings!" he cheerfully responded back, as he abandoned his task for the time being to go over and meet her. "And welcome to Furnado! Luckily for you, all of our cats are living! We wouldn't be much of a shelter if that weren't the case, although I wouldn't be too surprised if we had a few undead ones show up at some point..."

Actually, now that he said it...

"A bit surprising, actually, that we haven't....Anyway!" He shook head a little, to get back on track. "Yes, we have cats! Do you have any more specifications other than living?"

That really did bot narrow it down much.

Liliana didn't seem particularly perturbed or even surprised to see a nine-foot-tall sharkman tending shop and talking to her. If anything, her demeanor seemed to relax slightly.

"Do you normally get undead animals coming through town, even if they don't stop here, specifically?" she asks with bright interest. "With some regularity, perhaps?"

Please say yes, Sidon, please say yes. Make Lili's whole day.

"Ahhh, no," said Sidon, with a bit of regret in his voice as he could already tell that this answer would be a bit disappointing to this new prospective cat owner. "I don't think we've ever had any come through, but it seems like something that might occur around here. And, where I'm from, there are often skeletal versions of some creatures, but they only come out at night."

There was a slight pause, before Sidon added, "And I'm usually here at night, but I've yet to see any stalcats."

Liliana did look slightly disappointed at the lack of a regular undead pet incursion, but perked up at the potential of skeletal creatures elsewhere. "Do they? And where are you from? Germany? England? France?" Those being the only parts of Earth she'd heard of. For all she knew, the island was off the coast of one of those places anyway. "Should you wish to bring me some - or tell me how to get there - I would happily pay you for the inconvenience!"

All discussions of living cats had clearly been put on pause for the moment.

"Hyrule!" Sidon declared, with a big, proud, toothy grin and a pump of his fist across his chest. "Actually! Though I have been to France, not too long ago, as a matter of fact! I'm not surprised if you haven't heard of it, though, as it is a different world entirely, and the idea of bringing one of the undead monsters from my world into this one is one I've never exactly considered, although I don't know if it would be much good in this world, as they gain their power from the Great Calamity, which does not exist in this world, and thank goodness for that."

Oh, no. They were never getting back to living cats at this point, were they?

Well, they might. A few of the cats were getting a little peckish, so, naturally, they were seeking Sidon out, because some of them still thought he was food.

"Ah! Another plane!" Liliana said with perfect understanding, then waved away his concern about this 'Great Calamity,' whatever that one was. Yeah, yeah, the time-knife, we've all seen it, let's get back on track here. "That should hardly be a problem," she assured him. "My magics are more than enough to keep them animated. It may take me one or two to get the correct amount of power without exploding them or somesuch, but that's hardly a problem."

She looked around, though not at the pets, more like she could see through the walls at the surrounding town. "Is everyone on this plane human, then?" she asked him, dubiously. "Just purely human?"

How bizarre. And boring.

"Well, most of the animals here are also from this plane," Sidon pointed out, taking a moment to bend over and sweep up one of the hungry cats that had ventured forth, mostly just because he already knew it would start trying to climb him any moment now, so he was just saving the poor guy the trouble and set him on his broad shoulder, "but as far as people go, then, yes, as far as I can tell, they are all human here.

"I," he offered, "am a Zora! And not just any Zora, but Sidon!" He flashed Liliana another toothy grin, pumping his fist across his chest again, and, this time, even managing to catch the light in just the right way so that it glistened off his fangs in the perfect way. The cat somehow managed to still hang onto that shoulder as it swung with his arm, digging its claws in for dear life, but if Sidon noticed, he made no sign of it. "The Zora Prince! And I would love to try to bring you back some stal-bones from my homeland, if you'd like. Do you suppose you'd prefer a stalizalfos, a stalkoblin, or perhaps maybe a stalmoblin?"

Sorry, Liliana, he would not be able to bring you a stalnox, although if anyone in Hyrule would be able to transport those bones, it would probably be Sidon.

And a part of him did wonder if it was ill-advised to provide such a thing to a woman he'd just met, but he also liked to be helpful, and, again, he was doubtful that they wouldn't be much more than a pile of bones without Calamity Ganon's influence and power.

Apparently it was de rigueur for royalty to work in shops. Liliana felt much more cheered about her own prospects at this fact.

"Liliana Vess," she says, offering the back of her hand to Sidon for a courtly kiss of greeting. "I've not yet traveled to Hyrule, but it seems like somewhere I should visit. Though, my apologies, I don't know the difference between a a stalizalfos, a stalkoblin, or perhaps maybe a stalmoblin. Or even what they are."

But she was absolutely excited to learn.

And the kitty! cat does get a fawning look. Right. She was here to get a living cat, wasn't she?

Courtly manner in Hyrule were quite a bit less rigid than in other places, so there was no kiss on Liliana's offered hand, but there was enough of a familiarity there for Sidon to at least take it and bow to it respectfully...

Well, one could probably assume he was bowing, but it was rather required just to reach the hand in the first place. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Liliana Vess! And not to worry, I did not expect you to really know what you're preference there might be, but, luckily, I am teaching Hylian creatures this semester! A stalizalfos is the skeletal version of a creature called a lizalfos, which I understand are best described to people unfamiliar with them as lizardmen. Stalkoblins are the same for creatures known are bokoblins, I believe there is a thing known as a goblin in most places that they might be compared to, and a stalmoblin? By now, I'm sure you'll guess that that's a skeletal moblin, and a moblin is..."

He frowned a moment.

"A bit harder to describe. A bit like a bokoblin, but stretched out closer to my size, perhaps."

Liliana accepted the bow with grace - it was still courtly and that was enough - only reclaiming her hand to clap with joy at his descriptions. "Viashino!" she gleed. "And goblins! And...orcs, perhaps? Oh those would be just lovely!"
