Turtle & Canary; Monday [03/13].
Summer sort of figured the monotony of her usual Monday morning tasks around the shop would be pretty slow going, distracted and with a mind wandering toward the surprising turn of events (was it, though, Summer? Was it really that surprising?) this weekend, but she actually ended up being just as distracted by her phone. At least she was almost glued to it and grinning at what had sparked when she shot off a reply (what would u do if i did?) to a message (not going to cancel on me again tonight, are u?) from that guy from Tinder she was supposed to meet up with tonight that she'd been sort of jerking around a little with scheduling.
Yeah, definitely not canceling. He was making some very convincing arguments. Mostly in the form of physical evidence, and there was a good chance Summer was going to just have to come in later tomorrow (much later) to finish up what wasn't getting done today.
But at least all of their staplers were being dutifully filled today, even if Apu was very upset that SUmmer didn't even notice.

So while he waited til he could call the university later that afternoon, he decided to at least try and be a bit productive that morning,
“Morning,” he said when he spotted Summer, which was him being …well not chatty exactly but it was a start for him.

"Oh, hey, Cutter, how's it going?"

And it felt even better to actually say that and mean it and not just feel like she was just saying it because it was expected.

"That's really sweet of him," she then noted, once she'd finished appreciating that nice little blip of memory for a moment. "Definitely seems like the kind of thing he'd do, too."
Which was, you know, big upgrade from wives that cheat and then shoot you, Cutter! But she figured (hoped, really) he didn't need her telling him that.
"But, yeah, good thinking," she threw him a wink, "being better prepared for next time."

Cutter smiled at that, still a little red, “it was a nice thought, took a while to clean the kitchen though,”
They’d gotten a little distracted.
