The Perk | Wednesday Morning
Annie -- who was definitely not avoiding packing up her whole apartment to be moved in a week or so, don't be silly -- had forced herself out the door for a run this morning. And, sure, it had ended up being more of a...tired jog than she would have liked, and her nausea had flared up about halfway through, but -- you know what? She had seven more months of this, and Annie refused to let a little pukiness keep her down. She'd been through worse. She could prevail! She refused to give up her sense of normalcy. At least not yet.
Which was why she was ducking into the Perk post-workout, in search of some of those simple carbs she knew would settle things down and keep her going for the rest of the day. And, like, yes, look at her being good and settling down at a table with another uncaffeinated pink drink of some kind, along with a banana.
...and also some coconut birds nests, because springtime cookies were being offered in the case, and Annie, like, needed those, okay? It was all about balance. Simple carbs and the perfect combination of coconut and chocolate would keep her going today.

"Morning, Will," Annie replied with a fluttered wave. "How's it going? I heard there was some excitement this weekend."
Excitement she and Diego had both slept through, which she would feel worse about if they both hadn't needed to take a step back from the superhero thing for a variety of baby and power-related reasons.

The same couldn’t be said for a number of the warehouses themselves, alas.

Weirdly enough, Annie was hoping for arson -- not because she, like Steve, wanted some crimes to solve (though, you know, that would probably be welcome), but because a random accident was so much scarier to her than a concrete bad guy.

Sorry, Annie.

"Well," she said, blowing out a breath, "I'm glad no one was seriously hurt. And hopefully that results in, like, a re-visitation of, like, codes or whatever."
And maybe a little mental note, here and now, to make sure to have an actual electrician go through the new house to be extra sure.

She knew Stark also worked at the clinic, and that girl who was probably completely traumatized when Five had been brought in, but -- she wouldn't blame Will for, like, needing a vacation after the past weekend, either.

Plenty of misery just over the causeway, even!

It would actually just be hard in new ways! Goodbye, puking -- hello swollen feet!
"And we're moving," she added. "Just, like, to a house, not off-island."

Which, honestly, was just the smart thing to do if you could afford it and wanted to stay married and to keep liking all your friends, anyway.

She put a finger to her lips. Don't tell Diego she was playing packing hooky, Will!
