Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey's little gremlin coworker she totally still had at her job, I am just busy okay had decided to come watch her train today. She'd made him promise to behave around Anakin even though he never started anything there, and he was on a crate watching her run the course.

And looked just kind of mildly impressed when she finished. But he still clapped!

Anakin came into the warehouse and gave the gremlin a dubious look. "Hello, Rey."

The gremlin regarded him warily.

"Hi," Rey said. "He's only watching, I promise."

Anakin didn't look entirely convinced. "Uh-huh. Does he wish to learn the ways of the Force?"

There had been weirder younglings.

The gremlin looked interested, so look what you did, Anakin.

"I just mentioned that the place looked different since the last time he was out here," Rey said.

"Were you giving him the tour?" Anakin teased.

[thatwaslucky]

"I did, actually," she admitted.

[sith_happened]

"Was he impressed?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

The gremlin nodded, warily.

[sith_happened]

Anakin smiled. "Well, good. It's very impressive."

Modest, Anakin.

[thatwaslucky]

"It is," Rey agreed. "Does that help?"

Aka would Anakin be nice if the gremlin was impressed?

Anakin would do his best!

"It does."

[thatwaslucky]

Rey smiled. "I told him he could come along with me on a run, but that also feels like it could end in disaster."

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed. "Maybe a little one," he agreed.

[thatwaslucky]

"Unless you have any ideas," she went on.

[sith_happened]

"For entertaining a gremlin?" Anakin laughed. "I'm afraid I've never given that a moment's thought."

[thatwaslucky]

"Or for letting him see the course firsthand," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Oh, we should definitely let him try," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"He can't get past the jumps on his own without one of us," she pointed out.

And she was not fishing him out of quicksand.

"That can be your part of the training," Anakin said, beaming. "Help him over the difficult parts."

[thatwaslucky]

Rey paused. "This sounds like it just turned into something I'm doing," she realized.

[sith_happened]

"You are very wise," Anakin said, smirking lightly.

[thatwaslucky]

"All right," Rey said to the gremlin. "Are you ready?"

The gremlin hopped off the crate, but wow did he not look sure about this.

The gremlin was also wise.

"If you do it well, I'll get you a Jedi robe," Anakin promised.

Rey raised an eyebrow at him.

[sith_happened]

"It's just a robe," he muttered. "I'm not handing him a lightsaber."

[thatwaslucky]

"I just never expected this from you," Rey admitted.

[sith_happened]

"Well, it's been a while since I've been bitten. Maybe bribery will keep it like that."

[thatwaslucky]

Rey looked at the gremlin.

Who looked at both of them, totally innocent, he was here as a friend!

Anakin shrugged. "The worst that can happen is we think we're circus ringleaders trying to get the woodchucks to perform, right?"

That was a weirdly specific scenario to put out into the universe like that, Anakin.

"You, maybe," Rey said. "I never had anything to worry about."

From this particular gremlin. Honestly the Skywalker name should bring them out of the woodworks more.

They'd really been slacking!

"That's incredibly unfair," Anakin said. Maturely.

[thatwaslucky]

"What, we're friends," she pointed out.

The gremlin put his little fist out.

Rey fist bumped him.

[sith_happened]

"Why don't I have gremlin friends?" Anakin asked.

Other than a decade-plus of mutual loathing?

[thatwaslucky]

"Well..." Rey said slowly, "you seem a little... angry about them sometimes."

Leia level diplomacy here.

"They started it."

Probably. It'd been fifteen years.

[thatwaslucky]

"And who's ending it?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

"I'm making a gesture here," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"Truce then?" Rey asked the gremlin.

The gremlin both kind of shrugged and nodded, as he didn't speak for all gremlins, but he was cool.

"And Obi-Wan despaired of my negotiation skills," Anakin said, grinning.

[thatwaslucky]

"Apparently the answer was more Jedi robes," Rey said. "Noted."

[sith_happened]

"Well, he left them absolutely everywhere," Anakin said with a smile, "so Obi-Wan was practically the inspiration."

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm sure he'd love to know that," Rey said, completely sincerely.

[sith_happened]

"That he still influences my teachings?" Anakin smiled again. "Probably."

[thatwaslucky]

"And helping out the little guys." The very little ones.

[sith_happened]

Anakin snickered. "The very little ones."

[thatwaslucky]

The gremlin stuck a hand on his hip. Who was to say he wasn't tall for a gremlin?

"I'm sure you're a giant among your people," Anakin said.
