Vi was in a much more stable equilibrium than she'd been last week, and settled back into her usual store routine.

Much to the dismay of Saffron who'd flopped onto the counter fulling expecting the level of snuggles and pampering she'd received back then.

Woe, woe was her.

Steph breezed in with a lunch that apparently involved a lot of noodles and a kiss on the cheek for Vi, further compounding Saffron's woes.

"How are my favorite girls?"

Saffron just hissed at her.

"Hungry and neglected," Vi said, grinning and pointing to herself and Saffron in turn. "Though I suspect pone of those is getting fixed."

Because that was a lot of noodles there.

Look, sometimes you just got a craving for Mongolian barbecue, and got carried away loading the bowl up with meats and veggies and tofu. Factor in Fandom's inexplicable ability to make food multiply, and it was about three days' worth of fully loaded noodles.

"Oh, yeah, all of this is for Saffron, actually. You and I are just going to have to scrounge something up," Steph said with a very serious nod.

Vi responded with an equally serious nod. "I'm sure Saffron will appreciate it."

Or at the very least was going to be begging all afternoon now.

Well, there were plenty of bits of various meats in there, probably more than made for an optimal meat-to-noodles ratio. So Saffron really could have some!

...and then have another weapon in her arsenal to use against them. Shh.

"Did I miss anything exciting while I was gone?" Steph asked as she started unpacking the food.

It was the least they could do, after neglecting her so terribly.

"Just Saffron wasting away," Vi said, reaching over to scritch her poor kitty ears.

"Never enough love from Vi in her day to meet all her needs," Steph intoned dramatically as she tried to sneak closer and steal a kiss. "Can't say I know the feeling. Sorry, Saffron."

How could Food Human mock her suffering like that?

Vi shook her head sadly after letting Steph steal that kiss. "It's like she has hollow legs." Or whatever the emotional equivalent was.

Because Food Human was literally the worst, that was how.

"Poor, long-suffering kitty. No one will ever understand how bad you have it, huh?" Steph asked, wiggling her fingers in a vague mime of kitty scritches from a safe distance.

Saffron flopped very dramatically in response, which was kind of impressive given she was already lying down.

"She's having a very bad time of it."

Saffron was a cat, so seemingly impossible feats of physics would not surprise Steph at all.

"Poor girl," Steph said as she got out napkins and utensils. "And she hasn't even gotten subjected to my clever plan for the day yet. Namely 'can Vi and Steph try and re-enact that scene with the two dogs eating spaghetti from that classic animated film?'"

The classic animated film Vi hadn't yet watched. "Can we what?

"...well, I guess I know what we're watching tonight," Steph declared. "It's like... these two dogs are having this romantic dinner date, and they're eating spaghetti, and it turns out they're both trying to slurp up the same noodle at the same time so they end up kissing."

That... sounded a lot less romantic phrased like that, didn't it?

"I have so many questions," Vi said. Not that this was stopping her from fishing out a reasonably long noodle and offering one end to Steph.

"As you should," Steph said, snickering, before she popped the end of the noodle into her mouth and looked at Vi expectantly.

Vi put the other end in her own mouth and raised an eyebrow. "What now?" she asked around the noodle.

"I mean..." Steph started slurping the noodle up, an action that would never be sexy in description, and gestured at Vi to do the same from her end.

Doing her best not to laugh, Vi obligingly slurped on her end of the noodle, trying to get a similar amount.

Yeah, there was really no way to do this that didn't involve trying not to laugh.

Steph leaned in closer and closer to Vi as she kept going, now nibbling like a rabbit and smothering a snicker the whole time.

Saffron had taken a moment out of her pity party to pay attention to what they were doing and was judging them so hard. So hard.

Vi followed Steph's lead, though by the time they were close enough to kiss, she had a fair bit of noodle tucked into her cheek. Like a sexy, sexy chipmunk.

Even Little Bot had paused midway through some tidying up, a stray paintbrush held aloft in one servo claw, although he probably wasn't judging.

Steph's shoulders were shaking with silent laughter as she leaned in to kiss Vi, resembling a chipmunk a fair bit herself.

It was one of their character and more ridiculous kisses, Vi eventually pulling back enough to swallow and ask "Was that what you meant?"

"Definitely not as cute in real life as on film," Steph decided, "but I'm not sorry to have that experience with you. We are not eating all of lunch that way, though."

Vi slid her arm around Steph's waist. "Yeah, no, that'd be kind of awkward."

[drumsticksandd20s]

"Plus it would take forever squared," Steph added, snuggling into her. "And now that I can say we've done it, we can just eat like normal people."

She said, like they were normal people.
