You know, Summer might not have even thought of it before, but Tino went ahead and made some sort of snide comment under his breath on how it seemed pretty convenient, didn't it, that she'd managed to turn back from being a squirrel just in time for her jello making and subsequent bar shift, and now, she couldn't really get it out of her head.

Because it had been convenient. But it was also just coincidence, right? Right? Like, she changed on Tuesday night, it made sense that she'd change back on Tuesday night, too, but did that mean it was somehow convenient that she changed just in time to miss her bar shift last week? Who would that have been convenient for? Certainly not the bar patrons who then just had Tino to deal with that night...

She was definitely thinking on this way too much, but it was wedged in there now, and she couldn't stop thinking about it, although occasionally thinking about how Tino was clearly the worst of getting her on this convenience bullshit was a good contender for distracting her from it occasionally. And she was sure, once people started coming in for the night, the distractions would continue.

But was it convenience? And for whom? Or was it just coincidence?

UGH. She was back on it again. Tino really was the worst!

"Acorn and pecan?" he asked as he sat down. "Were you missing nuts?"

It had been right there, ok? He couldn't help it.

"I'm feeling a little nuts right now," Summer found herself murmuring under her breath, with a witheringly accusing glance down the bar at Tino before she sighed a little and shifted her attention to Stark.

"You know how I feel about a theme," she said. "It would have been a crime not to go nuts this week."

"You do love a theme," Stark agreed.

And he loved a tiny pie and there was one tonight. What a coincidence!

"And you didn't really get the nuts last night after they were spilled...I think I'll try all of them tonight. Please."

Part of him was a little hesitant and wondering if he ought to not even be here after that whole needing space conversation but he'd missed her even if she'd been with him all week.

The bar, obviously, didn't count. There was even a standard reinforced actual space inherent in it, with the actual bar between them, clearly! Even if that was an incredibly literal interpretation of the whole thing, but anyway...

"What did you do with all of that, anyway?" Summer wondered, as she dutifully started laying out the shots, beginning with the pie one, even as she wondered if he'd save that one for last. "Seems like kind of a shame for it all to have been wasted because the island has a terrible sense of timing, placement, and humor."

"Evening Summer," Connor said with a nod and grin as he took a seat. "Glad to see jello night is still on. Was a little worried."

"Yeah, sorry about that,: said Summer, with a faintly apologetic smile. "I was a squirrel. So..."

She shrugged. What could you do, right?

"But I'm back now! What can I get for you, Connor?"

"Yeah, sounded like there was a good bit of the animals transformation going on" Connor said with a thoughtful nod. "Glad to have you back. And lets do the usual, one of each to start!"

"Good call," Summer nodded approvingly, as she went to set out a neat little line of shots for Connor, and look at that, she didn't even have to give him a dubious look about any of them, either! "But, yeah, it never seems to be just one person at a time, does it?"

And this last week, in particular, there had been a lot. Made you wonder why that was, if there was any reason for it, some overarching commonality that might even tie into the convenience--

Ugh! No! She was doing it again! Summer shook her head as if to shake off those thoughts and focused back on Connor.

"Did I miss anything good?" she tried. "While I was a squirrel?"

Goose came round that evening, trying to not think about how few Wednesdays there really were left before he left, “hey, welcome back,” he smiled as he took his usual seat at the bar.

"Thank you," Summer beamed at Goose as he settled in, holding that for a moment before dutifully going to set out the jello shots for him, because obviously he was getting them all, right? "It feels very good to not be tiny and furry and slightly more concerned about certain handsy radio squirrels than usual. And, of course, to be making jello again. Did I miss anything good, while I was squirreled?"

“I don’t think you missed out on too much,” Goose told her as he tilted his head tilt, “it was fairly quiet over the last week,”

He smiled, “and I know I’m glad about your jello making abilities being back,” he added, “do you think I could get doubles of everything?” he tried as he reached for his first shot because of course he was going to try to get extra.

"Only because you asked so nicely," said Summer, with a wink, as she set up the second row, which she'd pretty much suspected she'd be doing for Goose, anyway. "And how are you doing? They still planning on pulling you back home at the end of the semester?"

Cutter had been meaning to make it to the bar for a few weeks now and had finally turned up that evening.

Plus it seemed like a good chance to wear his new jacket, “evening,” he smiled, “scotch please,”

Summer was very tempted to boo at this request, since she felt everyone should be celebrating her ability to make jello again, but she did also like pouring actual drinks, too, and Cutter didn't show up as much as some others, so she supposed he could get a pass.

"Hey, there, Cutter," she said, pouring said scotch just a little on the heavy side and sliding it over. "How's it going?"

He smiled as he picked up his scotch, “really well thank you, went away with Connor for a couple of days to Washington DC…it was really nice,” he felt himself start to go a little red as he took a sip of scotch, “how about you?”

Someone really needed to be better about listening to radio.
