The Beach - Sunday Afternoon
Cutter was finding that he was quite enjoying being a parent, even if it was only for a weekend and he was also trying very hard to not think about Tabby being his and Helen’s daughter. He just hoped that Helen never found out about this, there was no telling what she’d try to do.
Teddy had wanted to go exploring and wanted to see if he could find any trilobites. This had definitely thrilled Cutter and so after breakfast that morning, which Tabby had made again, she was not trusting either Cutter or Connor with the kitchen while she was there.
So now they were all at the beach, carefully exploring the shore for any signs of trilobites, which they weren’t having much luck with even though Cutter was having fun pointing out other different fossils for Teddy and Tabby while they were trying to find said trilobites.
[Connor modded with permission and the beach is open as well!]

"Our kids are pretty amazing, aren't they?" he said with a warm smile as he looked over at Cutter.
Our Kids was still something he never thought he would be able to say. And it felt amazing.

Connor looked from Tabby and Teddy then to Cutter.
"But this... I... Id really be able to get used to something.... like this."

He knew that it would have to be a conversation that they’d have to have down the line but after the last couple of days, being with Tabby and Teddy …he did want this, he wanted a family with Connor one day.

"The idea of something... something like this... with you.... I'd really like it someday."
Yes, a lot to talk about and figure out. But going from never having allowed himself to dare anything resembling a family of his own was possible to seeing a snippet of what could be.... that alone was enough to make him want this. For them both.

“I would really like that,” he told Connor fondly. “I never thought anything like this could be possible,” and he looked over at Teddy and Tabby who were doing their best to find trilobites, “but I would love to have a future like this with you,” his smile widened.

“They’re very hard to find aren’t they?” he said as he knelt down to be eye level with Teddy, “can I have a look ?” he asked, holding out his hand for the shell, “you may have found a fossil,”

"I think he might have" Connor said, tilting his head to get a look as Teddy handed the shell over. "Da-Da will definitely be able to tell you for sure," he said with a quick wink at Cutter.

"I don't think they are as old as trilobites, buddy" Connor said with a grin as he looked over at Cutter with a fond smile. "It is still a really cool one though!"
