Caritas, Saturday

Well, Saturday was Jane's new day on the job at Caritas and it wasn't too different from Mondays. But for some reason Tino was wearing a fake mustache to pretend he was someone new. Or maybe it was just what he did on Saturdays? Jane was not going to ask.

She was learning that it was best to just... not ask.

Wanda did a quick scan of the bar to make sure Annie wasn't in there before sliding up to the bar. "Don't make things awkward 2023" in full effect.

"How's the Saturday shift treating you?"

"Wanda, hi!" Jane said, kind of tilting her head at where Tino was adjusting his fake mustache. "It's been... Well. It's been."

"...does he think he's fooling people with that thing?" Wanda asked, looking at Tino. "Or is he just trying it out before making a commitment?"

"I don't know and I don't really want to ask," Jane admitted. "But if it is to test out future facial hair, I'm going to say it's a bad look for him."

Oh, oh that was just cruel. That poor weirdo.

[scarlet_chaos]

"Yeaaaah," Wanda drawled out, giving Tino an apologetic look. "Facial hair isn't for everybody."

Jane made a face that was clearly her thinking about Thor's facial hair and how it was definitely meant for him to have. "Oh, for sure," she said with a wistful little sigh. "How about a drink?"

"How about a meadmosa?" Wanda said. "That seems weekend-y."

Wanda was one of the people on the island that Stark never seemed to have a chance to actually speak to, for whatever reason.

Since they were both here he offered a wave and a "hello" from his own spot at the bar.

Wanda waved back with a smile. She had recognized Stark from various events (he kind of stuck out) and parties in town. "Hi there."

Stark did have a distinctive face (or lack thereof).

"Just wanted to say hello. I haven't seen you often, lately," he said, "so, hello Wanda."

"Yeah, I was away for awhile," she said. "How have you been?"

"I've been good," Stark with a hesitant smile. "Things have been good, recently. And you? Are you glad to be back?"

[scarlet_chaos]

"I am," she said with a nod. "I wasn't sure if I'd be back, but I missed the people here. I like the whole 'everybody knows your name' thing. In a quaint way, I mean. Not in a 'criminal on the news' way."

She had experienced both, and she knew which one she preferred.

Jane, you couldn't just go switching your days on your almost-regulars like this! What if they got confused?

Or just had to come in another day. Oh no, what a hardship.

"Hello, Jane. You changed to the weekends?"

[needsacatchphrase]

"I did!" Jane said with a quick grin. "Mondays weren't working out for me. I kept getting pulled into things back on the mainland or in New Asgard instead."

[stykera]

"It's good to see you," Stark said. "Maybe I should come in Saturdays instead, now. On weekends without too many strange things happening."

Like last weekend when he'd had an absurd number of children.

"The weekends do tend to have that happen, don't they?"

At least it was more likely then.

[stykera]

"They do," Stark said with a nod. Blissfully unaware, like everyone, that the next bout of weirdness would not be over a weekend.

"Last weekend I had 5 children. That was...interesting. Which drink should I try tonight?"

[needsacatchphrase]

Jane made a face that said one was probably too many for her right now. All things considered.

"The meadmosa is good," she offered.

[stykera]

"One of them was with Anakin," Stark said in response to that face. "And I'll try that drink first. Please."

Cara had decided to take a break from being antisocial, which was clearly a mistake. She glared wordlessly at Tino until he put a bottle of her preferred beer on the bar, then saluted Jane with the bottle. "Every time I come I here I remember why I quit."

"If it's Tino, I promise I have nothing to do with the fake mustache," Jane said lest anyone get it twisted.

"Believe me, I know exactly how much control anyone has over Tino," Cara said dryly.

[needsacatchphrase]

"None?" Jane ventured. "Is it none? Because he spent the first month of me working here, trying to scare me off."

Cara directed another withering glare Tino's way.

"He knows that's not how things are supposed to work around here."
