The Perk- Sunday

It had been long enough now that Gojyo had accepted that all of this.... wherever and whatever it actually was.... was in fact not some weird dream or illusion.

He had accepted that but it didn't mean he liked it. He would never admit it to anyone but he was worried about what happened to Hakkai and others and where they had ended up.

So Gojyo was at the Perk again, sans cigarettes, and a large overly caffeinated drink in front of him as he stared down at the tiny glowing screen in his hands, still trying to figure out how the hell the thing even worked.


(Gojyo is totally open to being distracted and of course, the Perk is open for any other caffeine and drink needs!)

Sometimes (always) caffeine was needed and so Stark was in the Perk for something very sugary and very caffeinated and iced because it was warm enough for that today.

And, oh look, someone he didn't recognize.

"Hello," he said, nodding to the unfamiliar man as he waited for his coffee at the counter.

Gojyo looked up from the screen. "Hey," he said with a small nod in return as he considered Stark for a minute. The mask was a bit odd, but he didn't look all that threatening, so Gojyo wasn't too concerned just yet. "Is it usually this quiet around here?' he asked with a nod at the general area because really, the place had seemed mostly dead every time he had made it around.

"It can be quiet," Stark said. "Last weekend there were children everywhere so it wasn't as quiet. But it's a small island. You're new?"

"New enough that all this feels more like a dream than anything else to be honest" Gojyo said with a dry laugh and a drik. "No idea how I got here and can't seem to leave, so... Fun times."

[stykera]

Stark nodded. "That happens to some people. I'm sorry. Are you alright? Have you been here long?"

[child_of_taboo]

"Couple weeks or so... long enough to get a room, though I really don't plan on sticking around too long."

"Name's Gojyo," he said after a moment of consideration.

[stykera]

"I'm Stark. I've been here...almost 3 years, this time." Give or take a bit for weird time differences.

"Where were you before?"

[child_of_taboo]

"Shangri-la. Much hotter and a lot less water than here" Gojyo said with a hint of a smirk. "Don't think I've seen this much water in one place before to be honest. It's kinda weird."

[stykera]

"A desert here?" Stark asked. "Or...another world entirely?"

Totally normal question to ask.

"Another world. Definitely another world" Gojyo said with a smirk. This place was just too weird to be anywhere near Shangri-la. "No idea how I ended up here though.... quite the magic trick, I gotta say. I've seen dream worlds and illusions that seemed real... thinking more and more this place is a bit more real than that."

[stykera]

"This is definitely a real place," Stark said. "Sometimes an odd one but certainly real."

[child_of_taboo]

"So, people get stuck here before I take it? They ever manage to get away?" Gojyo asked, wondering if he was going to regret hearing the answer to that question.

[stykera]

"Other people have been stuck before," Stark confirmed. "I think everyone has been able to leave eventually, if they really wanted to. Most of us can whenever we like but it seems to change. I don't think anyone really knows why or how."

[child_of_taboo]

"Well, that's somewhat promising I guess," Gojyo replied after a moment. "Thanks...Stark you said it was?"
