Things were maybe....a bit awkward, in the shop that day, and that? Was completely fair. But what Apu and the cheese panda failed to take into account was that Shunsui had been dealing with withering glances, disappointed looks, and accusatory glares directed his way for centuries. They deflected off of him like water off a duck's back.
Of course, the crux of their concern hinged on one particular point, because that one particular point seemed to lead back into all the other points of contention, and that was simply the complaint that didn't he usually go back to the Soul Society during the break weeks? And they seemed to think that none of this (did they mean all the werebeasts in general? Or was their world merely limited to the scope of the state of the store? Shunsui truly believed it was the latter) would have happened if he had gone.
This was why he usually left during those break weeks.
Well, that, and because Nanao-chan usually made him, which she didn't this time around, so, clearly, the blame could be trickled down to her.
He graciously did not make this point, though. You're welcome, Nanao-chan.
He was, instead, going to do his usual thing, with the napping and the drinking, with the occasional text sent Movie Class-chan's way about the Squishy Machine, while, apparently, Apu busied himself in the footwear aisle, mixing up all the pairs of shoes.
