Fandom Island Museum, Thursday Daytime

Of course anyone looking at a calendar would know that today was a significant day. Especially for someone living on Fandom Island where the day was especially important. There were, after all, so many people on the island who were affected by it, from well known authority figures on the island to - well so many others.

Naturally the Museum was going to observe it. And as Steven was the one working today it of course fell to him as the one to make sure to honor the day as it intended.

Yes. Today. The 4th of May. Known by everyone as World Password Day.

Now if only Steven could come up with new passwords for all the Museum's systems.

"What do you mean it's the same as a previous one?" he muttered as he tried typing into the computer at the Welcome Desk. "You didn't accept it when I put it in a moment ago!"

Steven might be at this for a while. He naturally welcomed any distractions.

Distraction, you say? Like a beau bearing lunch?

“Hello, y- is everything all right?”

"What?" Steven looked up, for he was indeed distracted by a beau bearing lunch. He smiled when he saw who it was. "Hello, you. Here to make my day better?"

“That is always my goal,” Watts confirmed. “You certainly sound as if a break is needed.”

"Even if it wasn't I'd still take one with you," Steven said. He put his glasses back into his pocket. "We're meant to change our passwords today but the computer is refusing to listen, you see."

“How so?” Watts wondered, placing his hat down on the desk.

[hasaknightjob]

"Won't take any of the ones I've been trying," Steven said. "Tells me they're too similar to old ones or not enough special characters or the like. Rude, if you ask me."

“Oh, I had one website on the Google say I could not reuse an old password. Neat trick that would be, considering I’ve had the mobile telephone less than a year and that was the first time I’d tried to change any password at all,” Watts said in sympathy.

"Then it says your password is wrong and when you go to change it it tells you that's the same one," Steven said. He put out the sign that said he was taking lunch and came around the counter to join Llewellyn. "It's enough to do your head in."

“Well, that won’t do at all,” Watts said, with the quickest of kisses to Steven’s cheek before he offered his arm.

Steven took the offered arm gladly. "You do not do my head in. You I like."

“Well, that certainly is a relief to hear,” Watts told him.

"I like very much," Steven said, speaking low as though sharing a secret. "How about yourself? How's your day been?"

“Uneventful,” Watts reported. “Though of course the best part of the day has only just begun.”

"Suppose we should be glad for uneventful," Steven said. "At least the museum looks to have avoided damage from last week."

“That’s a relief,” Watts said. “The amount of damage a rampaging beast could do in a place like this…” the poor fish! Poor Blathers, too, if the bugs got loose.

To say nothing of if there'd been rampaging werebugs!

"Indeed," Steven said. "Suppose it's an advantage that we're all tucked away down here. Makes it nice and quiet. A place to feel safe and get away from it all."

For lunch with one's beau, for instance.

“It is easily one of my favourite places on the island,” Watts admitted.

"I like it as well," Steven said, looking around at all the fish. "I know it's no British Museum. No Egypt exhibits or the like. But it's nice in its own way, isn't it? Has charm."

Watts nodded as they reached their table and he let go of Steven’s arm so they could sit.

“It does,” Watts agreed. “Not to mention a very charming fellow who happens to work here.”

"That fond of Blathers, are you?" Steven asked, grinning to show he was kidding. "Shall I take my usual seat?"

Llewellyn had said he didn't feel as uncomfortable in their usual lunch spot, but Steven felt there was no harm in checking to be sure.

“Please,” Watts said. “And you don’t see me bringing Mr. Blathers lunch, do you?” he pointed out. As Steven sat down, Watts unpacked the pasta and garlic bread he’d made and portioned it out before sitting down himself.

And yes, Steven absolutely got a few more tomatoes plus the slightly larger slice of bread.

Steven took it all in, including noticing the extra tomatoes and size of the bread. "This looks - and smells - lovely! Your bread, I assume?"

“Naturally,” Watts said. “I’d not give you store-bought when I am perfectly capable of making my own.”

Steven smiled at him. "I'd not want store bought when a superior option is available. Thank you, Llew. It's wonderful."

And he hadn't even tasted it yet!

“You’d best taste it before making any pronouncements like that,” Watts said. Though of course he had taken a few experimental bites of the pasta and a piece of bread before packing it all up to bring over.
