Tuesday: Plant Parenthood

Nell was here today and you might actually catch her singing as she went about her daily work. She was a bit preoccupied trying to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything that she'd need to run out for after work.

The kittens were happily lounging in the sun, and happy to beg anyone who came in for some petting and scritches.

With Margo's hammer out of the way and getting wrapped up on the Squishy machine (and delaying it slightly, intentionally, just to have a solid excuse to not do the reinstallation tomorrow), Amaya could finally spare a little more thought for the restoration of her greenhouse's former glory, which meant taking some time today to march across the way into Nell's shop, with a list.

"'Lo' there, Nell," she greeted, "how ya been?"

"Amaya, nice to see you!" Nell said cheerfully. "Come in! How can I help you?"

"Hopefully," said Amaya, coming in and pulling a folded piece of paper (fairly rough and even a little singed around the edges) out of her pocket as she did so, "you can help me with a bit of seeds and plants. Greenhouse took a bit of a trashing the other week, with all the werebeastie business, and I've finally had a chance to take stock and see what might need replacing or what to maybe try that's a bit new. Figured you'd be the one to go to for that kind of thing these days."

"Absolutely," Nell said. "And if I don't have it in stock I can order it for you. I'm sorry to hear your greenhouse was damaged."

She glanced around the store. "I'm very lucky they didn't bother me here. And my greenhouse is on the roof which makes it a bit harder to get to for intruders."

"Well, mine's on the second floor, just off the bedroom," Amaya sighed slightly with a shake of her head, "bit that still didn't stop 'em. Granted, it's also the back entrance to the apartment, so you could argue that it's hardly a surprise. No matter, though, it'll be a good summer project and I'd been wanting to get some sturdier glass up there anyway.

"Now," she continued, doing her best to straighten out the wrinkles on the paper before handing it over to Nell, "these are mostly just ideas, I can give or take a lot of 'em based on what we can get. Except the jasmine at the top of the list, that one's pretty non-negotiable."

Nell nodded. "I have a lot of these in stock and can get the others. For the jasmine, do you want established plants or seeds. Because I have seeds, but I can grow you plants in a few days if you want them quckly and to be sure they're good quality."
