Well, the changes that Steve had suggested were well under way and the facade of the building was less overtly modern than Tony liked, but matched the other buildings nearby better.

Nothing like an old fashioned version of the Stark name in cast iron to fit the vibe.

Patriot lay snoozing at his feet as Tony double checked on supply orders and the updated time frame for completion.

"However will you make do with six stories?" Wanda teased. "What ideas did you have to cut out due to the downsizing?"

"It was crushing, I was crushed," Tony assured her, pausing at the ballroom/gym. It was definitely a fancy ass ballroom, though. With gym accessories added on. "There was the greenhouse that had to go."

"I mean, probably for the best--" Wanda stopped her sentence when she got a glimpse of the ballroom/gym. "Wait, wait, that's an actual ballroom."

She had thought it was a metaphor! For a high class rumpus room or something.

"I don't know how to ballroom dance, for the record." She was a goth girl, she knew how to rave under bridges and join a mosh pit.

"Most people don't," Tony replied breezily. "I was forced to learn, but that's boarding school for you. I narrowly missed out on being forced into attending a cotillion by being much too new money still."

Just. Normal things there.

"I didn't realize you grew up during the Gilded Age." God, she loved that show.

Tony laughed at that. "You'd think we were still in it sometimes."

At least she didn't know about the bathroom Monet.

"But your floor will be less... gilded. I promise."

"I appreciate it," she said, chuckling. "I don't think I'd know what to do with myself if it were. Probably be afraid to touch anything."

"Well, we can't have that," Tony replied. "This is meant to be your home. And Steve would give us both sad looks. I can't take those looks."

"Yes, let's please avoid the sad looks." Wanda didn't think she could take those either. "I really appreciate you agreeing to this, Tony."

She hadn't actually realized how much she needed to get out of that apartment until she was asked.

"Sometimes we need some help to get back to ourselves," Tony said with a smaller, but genuine smile that was different from the ones you'd see on TV. "And you being around will keep Steve from trying to make me go jogging in the morning. Sorry not sorry. Throwing you under that bus."
