Well, the changes that Steve had suggested were well under way and the facade of the building was less overtly modern than Tony liked, but matched the other buildings nearby better.

Nothing like an old fashioned version of the Stark name in cast iron to fit the vibe.

Patriot lay snoozing at his feet as Tony double checked on supply orders and the updated time frame for completion.

Well if Wanda was moving in, she figured she should check the place out, right? Maybe offer to help. Though as she walked in she realized that maybe Tony might be a big ol' control freak about this renovation.

"Huh you can barely tell an elephant came through here."

He was a perfectly average control freak here! Ignore how many spreadsheets he had pulled up on holographic display.

"Right?" Tony asked, turning to look at her. "Hello, Wanda."

"Hi, Tony," Wanda greeted with a smile. "How are things going? You seem to be in your element."

"I'm building," Tony agreed with a trimphant grin. "Feels like it's been a while."

And it was energizing in a way he'd missed.

Aw, that was almost kind of cute. The enthusiasm was infectious, at least.

"I heard you had some big plans for this place," Wanda said. "Something about a ballroom-slash-gym?"

"A ballroom is perfectly normal!" Said the rich boy.

"But I assume you're here to see about your rooms."

Well, her entire floor unless someone else moved in.

"I mean, if it's not any trouble," she said with a playful shrug. "Just want to make sure my furniture fits."

Wanda, you did not own enough furniture to even cover half of a floor.

"Of course! We can test out the elevator... or the stairs," Tony corrected quickly.

Because he could play fast and loose with his own safety, but not other's.

"I realized as I said it."

"Uh, yeah, lets take the stairs for sure," Wanda said. "And maybe consider using a robot friend to test the elevators before doing it yourself?"

"You're as bad as Steve," Tony replied, leading the way. "If anything doesn't fit, just make a list and we'll put in an order."

Like the Superhero Sugar Daddy he was.

"Oh, we don't have to do all that," Wanda said, knowing she'd likely be sugar daddy'd no matter what. "Scott didn't, like, totally tank the store while I was gone so I do have some money."

Let him express his friendship via expensive gifts!

"We're already furnishing everything again, it'll be fast to put it all in one."

"Oh, right. Makes sense." Not a great excuse, but Wanda would accept it to help her feel less guilty about taking Tony's money. "Steve told me he talked you down from twenty stories to six?"

"Hey sweetheart," Steve said, smiling at Patriot as the dog came over to wiggle excitedly at his feet. "And Tony."

He was hilarious, okay.

Tony made a choked noise of hurt, putting his hand to his chest in nearly a swoon. "How could you, Patty?"

"He's a fickle, fickle dog," Steve said. "I'm sorry."

"Heartless," Tony said as the dog simply yawned and rolled onto his back to continue napping.

"It's the main quality of corgis," Steve agreed, grinning. "What have you tweaked in the plans today? I love the stone and iron outside."

"It's very retro." Oh, poor, poor Tony. Not being able to make his building look like a space ship.

"It's European and timeless," Steve tried.

[imafuturist]

"Says the man from the 40s."

He knew you, Steve!

[heroic_jawline]

"Who's been to Europe and it looks exactly the same now," Steve said.

Well. Less rubbly.

"Fine, fine. It can't all be sleek and modern." The inside would be, though.

Well, Steve couldn't ask for the impossible. "You still stand out, Tony," Steve said, kissing his cheek.

"Thank you." He liked to hear it sometimes.
