Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Remember last week's mystery pool noodles? Well this week the woodchucks actually were fighting with them.

After a while Rey just went into the snacks locker, got a bag of popcorn, and pulled up a crate to watch. You never know, maybe she could learn something.

"Wow," Anakin said, blinking as he came in. "I should have expected this and yet--"

Rey waved him over and held out the popcorn to offer him some.

"Thank you," Anakin said. "I'm hoping I don't see one in a robe pretending to me."

"They haven't graduated to costumes yet, which I'm glad for," she assured him.

[sith_happened]

Anakin took a handful of popcorn. "All right, then, let's see what they've learned watching us."

Mostly what they seemed to have learned was that you hit the pool noodles against each other, much like kids playing with wrapping paper tubes.

"They need a lot of help."

[sith_happened]

"I'm relieved to learn that," Anakin admitted. "If we'd accidentally raised an army of woodchucks, there's probably paperwork to fill out at City Hall."

"Or it'd be the next invasion."

Don't put that in the universe, Rey.

[sith_happened]

"The Wildlife Strikes Back," Anakin said. "Well. After the were-panda, nothing is too far-fetched."

[thatwaslucky]

"I think werecreatures may be the new murder clowns," Rey said. "The thing too ridiculous not to keep mentioning."

[sith_happened]

"Or the demon goat," Anakin added.

[thatwaslucky]

"I can't easily explain that one to people," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Or the random volcano," Anakin said. "If I'd known one was here, I'd've moved in a long time ago."

Anakin.

"Master Skywalker," Rey said.

[sith_happened]

"It's probably not that child-safe," Anakin said. "And Rory would hate it."

[thatwaslucky]

"And it's not healthy without a respirator," she pointed out.

[sith_happened]

"...that honestly never occurred to me."

Because he'd been wearing one for years by the time he'd built Castle Super Extra.

She figured.

"That's why I'm here."

[sith_happened]

"Well, and to provide popcorn," Anakin added.

[thatwaslucky]

"I think this was actually Juliet's doing," she said, grabbing a handful.

[sith_happened]

"Probably," Anakin said, laughing. "She's always hungry these days. I think she's going to have a growth spurt."

[thatwaslucky]

"That's good, right?" Rey asked.

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded. "I think Leia will be unhappy when Juliet gets taller than she is."

[thatwaslucky]

Rey didn't say anything. But her face said she knew how tall Leia was, you know?

[sith_happened]

"She should be used to it," Anakin agreed.

[thatwaslucky]

"She and Jaina are about the same, I think."

Did that help anyone? One was definitely more bitter about it.

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed. "Well, Rory's taller than both of them, so the odds aren't in their favor for Juliet staying small."

[thatwaslucky]

"She can lord it over both of them," Rey nodded.

[sith_happened]

"I'm sure she will," Anakin said with a rueful chuckle.

[thatwaslucky]

"And I'm sure they'll be fine with it." Maybe.

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed. "I don't know if I'd leap straight to 'fine.'"

[thatwaslucky]

"Fine enough?" she tried.

[sith_happened]

"Fine enough is probably more accurate," he agreed.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'll make sure to restock the snacks, then," Rey said.
