Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

When Rey got to the warehouse today there was a note on the door with the lightsaber burn, printed with bad spelling, saying that the woodchucks has started their holiday long weekend early. Which raised so many questions. Did woodchucks celebrate Memorial Day? What did they do that they needed a long weekend from? Were they letting Rey know or did they think others would be looking for them at her warehouse? Where did they get a computer?

Whatever. Today Rey could lightsaber in peace.

Anakin stopped to read the note, frowning. "I have so many questions."

"Is it about the woodchucks?" Rey deadpanned.

[sith_happened]

"In part, yes," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"What's the other part?" she wondered.

[sith_happened]

"Wondering who taught them to read and write," Anakin admitted.

[thatwaslucky]

"I didn't even question that after the squirrels," Rey realized. "Unless they got help from the squirrels."

"So we just accept literate rodents?" Anakin replied.

[thatwaslucky]

"I think we have been," Rey pointed out.

[sith_happened]

Anakin stopped to think about it and shrugged. "Possibly," he admitted. "It just snuck up on us."

"I'd say so. It was pretty common to introduce newbies to the school with the squirrel talk when I arrived," she said.

[sith_happened]

"The squirrels, sure, but the expansion to racoons and now woodchucks is newer," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"That's why I'm wondering if the squirrels maybe did it for them. But would they type it?"

Did they use AI???

"We have questions to ask when they return from their holiday," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"It'll be interesting to see how they answer them." Like, physically.

[sith_happened]

"Very," Anakin agreed, chuckling softly. "Where do they go on vacation?"

[thatwaslucky]

"To the woods? Or do they avoid that?" Rey mused.

[sith_happened]

"Maybe historical dams?" Anakin added.

[thatwaslucky]

"Someone has to visit those," she said.

[sith_happened]

"It's not going to be me," Anakin said, laughing. "The water would be fascinating, but not the dam."

"Where would you go, by your own choice?" Rey wondered.

[sith_happened]

"I like cities," Anakin said. "So probably a city on a planet I've never been to."

[thatwaslucky]

"But not like Coruscant?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

"That's too much city," Anakin said, laughing.

[thatwaslucky]

"It is a lot," she agreed. "I liked it, but it's overwhelming."

[sith_happened]

"Completely," Anakin agreed, nodding.

[thatwaslucky]

"I don't think I'll ever understand how there's so much of it," she admitted.

"Hundreds of years of work, mostly," Anakin said, "but I don't understand why. Leave the mountains alone."

[thatwaslucky]

"There are mountains there?" Color her shocked.

[sith_happened]

"Barely, any more," Anakin said, "but yes."

[thatwaslucky]

"Why would anyone do that?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

"I think they just ran out of room," Anakin said. "There were trillions of beings."

[thatwaslucky]

"But that's so much damage done to the planet then," she said.

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded sadly. "It's no longer a natural ecosystem, really."

[thatwaslucky]

"This has been depressing," she admitted.

[sith_happened]

"Sorry," Anakin apologized.

[thatwaslucky]

"I started it," she admitted. "I was there before I knew I could use the Force. I wonder if it would feel differently to me now."

[sith_happened]

"It's a Force that comes through the life of beings, rather than plants and water," Anakin said. "I always thought it felt a little more...frenetic."

[thatwaslucky]

"Because of all the people?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded. "It's still the Force, of course, but less calm feeling, at least to me."

[thatwaslucky]

"That makes sense," she agreed.
