Between the lack of classes and winding down from teh weekend, it was a pretty chill day at the store.

Little Bot was cheerfully tootling about the store, occasionally waving a flag held in one servo, Saffron was lazily batting around one of the pride-cones, and Vi was, unsurprisingly, still brushing glitter out of her hair from yesterday, because it had in fact, gotten everywhere.

With Baseball Night quickly turning into just a general, all-encompassing hang out evening with friends, Gladio had been thinking something like a game to bring along one of these times wouldn't be the worst idea, and,of course, there was only one place to go for that.

Well, two, they probably had some at T&C since they had everything (except duct tape), but what fun was that?

"Hey, Vi," Gladio lifted a hand in a wave when he walked into the store, getting slightly distracted by Little Bot passing by. "How's it going?"

Vi looked. It wasn't like she never had customers, people (non gremlin people at that) used the games room pretty often, but still, she was more than able to block out plenty of time for canoodling with the boss.

"Hey," she said, acknowledging Gladio with a nod as Little Bot offered him a tub of spare flags. "Alright. Looking for anything in particular."

"Aww, thanks?" Gladio gave Little Bot a somewhat confused look, but he bent down to pick up the offered tub all the same. "And, yeah, just coming in to have a look at what you guys had as far as good party games might go. Any suggestions right off the bat? Bonus points if it doesn't rely heavily on a visual element."

Looking as pleased with himself as a roomba could, Little Bot trundled off.

"A lot of them do," Vi said thoughtfully, looking through the shelves. "So you might be better off with a purely co-op one. Though, hang on." She came back to the counter with a box in her hands.

"Yeah," Gladio grunted in a wag that understood what a tall order that was. Kind of makes Charades seem a little unfair if one person can't even see."

Iggy would still have an almost preternatural ability to judge based on air movement, or something, though, he swore.

But the box Vi brought out definitely did catch his attention, and his head tilted curiously.

"So what's this one?"

"I haven't actually played this one," Vi said, opening the box and pulling out a pair of blackout glasses. "But all but one player wear a set of these, and have to work together to escape the final player who doesn't."

"Huh," Gladio remarked, thoughtfully, as he moved in to have a closer look at the game, especially now that Vi had opened it. Now that would be kind of interesting. It almost sounds like Iggy's first class, but in board game form."

And one in which he'd have a pretty big advantage over everyone else, since he'd spent years cultivating a skill in exactly that sort of thing in real life, which could balance out some of the disadvantages of probably literally every other game.

Vi flipped through the rule book. "Looks like the idea is for the players wearing the glasses to communicate with each other to figure out how the board's laid out and where the hunter is, while the hunter switches between making sure the other players are able to make their moves and trying to catch them."

"So there's a big teamwork element to it, too," Gladio noted, with an amused snort. "Which definitely ties into our upcoming class, too..."

So, if anything, this was giving him a great idea to propose to the others for a lesson.

"That could be good, though, especially with a detective as a prospective player as well."

"Steph's always talking about how games are good for building teamwork." You know, when she and Vi weren't trying to one up each other in a competitive game.

"I could see how some of them might actually have the opposite effect, too, though," Gladio noted with a snort.

Looking at you, whatever the Eosian equivalent of Monopoly was.

There was a reason there was wasn't a copy of Diplomacy in the games library. "That can happen."

Steph was absolutely winding down from the weekend, which meant that she was in the office, answering emails and handling any urgent matters but mostly playing games on her phone and sketching new monsters for upcoming game sessions.

"I'm so ordering lunch for delivery today," she called out the doorway to Vi. "What are you feeling like?"

"I'm kind of missing pizza, actually," Vi said, grinning. "Guess it doesn't take that long to form a habit."

"Entirely fair. It's pizza," Steph allowed. "If you start craving it every night, we might have a problem, but once a week? Completely fine."

"I mean there are some things I crave every night," Vi said, completely shamelessly. "But not pizza."

Steph shook her head, smiling affectionately the whole time.

"You do have a voracious appetite for certain things, yes. But first, what kind of pizza are you feeling like?"

"I'm thinking something with pineapple." Vi had chosen which particular side of that hill she was going to die on.

"Works for me." Look, Steph refused to make that a hill to die on, just because everybody else seemed to think it should be. "Do we want to get tiramisu for dessert this time, too? Maybe a couple of bottles of soda? I want to do as little work as possible today."

"Sounds pretty good to me," Vi agreed. "You deserve to relax after this weekend."

"Thank you." Steph spun around in the chair once and leaned back, closing her eyes. "I've been busting my ass so hard, holy shit. So worth it, but damn, I'm actually kind of wiped now."

Vi came around so she could kiss the top of her head. "Well, we've got a whole week before class start again."

Steph reached out to grab her hand. "A whole week with not very much to do with ourselves except get snuggly when we're not working."

Vi squeezed her hand in return. "We don't even have to leave the house if we don't feel like it."

"I really, really don't. At least not for the next day or two," Steph said with a grin at that we, bringing Vi's hand up to her lips. "I don't want to do anything much harder than having to pick the next movie we watch."
