Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey was trying to train, but there had been a few knocks on the door with the lightsaber burn because someone was trying to drop off a shipment of lumber they thought should come here. Rey tried to reason with the guy, failed, sent him to check his orders again, he came back and got belligerent, she had to mind trick him to make him leave, and a while later they just sent another guy for the same thing.

So today appeared to be more about how to handle frustration. And it was probably for the best she didn't carry around her staff anymore.

"Rey?" Anakin called. "There's a man here with some lumber?"

Rey groaned. "The bald one or the one with a mustache?"

[sith_happened]

"Mustache!" Anakin replied.

[thatwaslucky]

"I told him to talk to his supervisor! They have the wrong place!"

She was gonna have to mind trick him too.

[sith_happened]

"Did the woodchucks order it?" Anakin asked.

Mustache gave him a look.

"I promise that the question makes sense to her," Anakin added.

[thatwaslucky]

"No," she said, and looked at Mustache. "For the last time, this isn't mine and I'm not signing for anything."

It also felt weird to sign for wood? Like?

"How many times has he been here?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"Twice. The other guy was here three times and the answer has not changed," she said.

Anakin arched an eyebrow at Mustache. "Then I think she's been more than patient. Off with you."

[thatwaslucky]

Mustache waved a paper at him, but hmphed and walked off.

"He'll be back," Rey said darkly.

"Glutton for punishment?" Anakin guessed.

[thatwaslucky]

"Or deeply confused and certain he's right," she said.

[sith_happened]

Anakin made a face. "The worst combination."

[thatwaslucky]

"This has been my day," she sighed. "How are you?"

[sith_happened]

"Significantly less frustrated," Anakin said with a smile.

[thatwaslucky]

"Wait twenty minutes," she said.

[sith_happened]

"He's really going to come back?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"He's going to call his boss and say something like 'I have to deliver this somewhere,'" she said.

[sith_happened]

"Can we redirect him somewhere else?" Anakin wondered.

[thatwaslucky]

"You can try that next time," she told him, having tried that with the last guy.

[sith_happened]

"I will," Anakin said. "Who should I send it to? The construction further down? That's probably where they're supposed to be going anyway."

[thatwaslucky]

"Uh huh. Good luck," she nodded.

[sith_happened]

"You don't seem optimistic," Anakin noted.

[thatwaslucky]

"There's a reason," she said lightly.

[sith_happened]

"The frustrating part of your day," Anakin said. "We'll just use the Force."

If Obi-Wan could use it on annoying bar patrons, surely this was fine too.

"Oh, I already had to mind trick one guy," Rey admitted.

Maybe that was not what he meant?

[sith_happened]

"And has he come back?" Anakin asked.

Because if it worked, it worked.

[thatwaslucky]

"No," she said.

"That's when we got Mustache."

[sith_happened]

"And he's extremely weak minded," Anakin said uncharitably.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm worried there's a line," Rey stated.

[sith_happened]

"Oh, probably," Anakin said, "but this isn't it."

[thatwaslucky]

"I mean a line of workers," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Ohhh," Anakin said. "In that case, we'll just work together and send them all on their way."

[thatwaslucky]

"How so?" Did he have a plan? Tell her you have a plan, Anakin!

[sith_happened]

"We tell the next one to bring back all of their colleagues who have an interest in the order and hopefully stop it all at once."

[thatwaslucky]

"All right," she said slowly, not fully buying this plan but it was better than no plan.

[sith_happened]

"Or maybe they won't come back at all!"

That was weirdly optimistic of you, Anakin.

Rey was quiet for too long before she said, "Maybe."
