Caritas, Saturday - After 3MD

Well, Tino was all set up, thinking he was going to get some numbers out of the dating event for reasons that Jane couldn't quite suss out.

So she was just going to be at her end of the bar to help out anyone who needed a drink. Tino could deal with the disappointment when people just wanted a drink and to be left alone over on his part of the bar.

"Disappointing," said Summer, meeting Rey with a grin as she came up, "because I didn't even get paired up with you! But they were...they were fun."

And honestly, more so than she was expecting, even if there was maybe a slight disappointment for not getting paired up with someone else, but also, waiting to see how that was going to go now that the dates were over was far more interesting.

"How were yours? Any sparks? Any future wedding dates?"

Rey made a face at the wedding dates part, but said, "No. I did get invited to a family get together, though. And none of them were bad."

Summer opened her mouth to say something, stopped as she seemed to think better of it, tilted her head a little as she reconsidered, and then finally, shook her head and just said, "You know what? Normally, I'd say it would be really worrying that the result of your 3MD experience is an invite to a family reunion, but then I remember who your family is, and, like, that tracks? But I'm glad you didn't have any bad ones."

It was all Skywalkers and Muppets tonight, no way she wasn't dating one Solo-Skywalker or another tonight.

"I feel like most of the people here are at least willing to roll with things, even if they didn't sign up themselves," she said. "That helps a lot."

"Yeah," Summer mused, "you don't really see anyone going into it kick and screaming, which, I mean, it's only, what, fifteen minutes? And the people who would be reluctant probably need the socialization the most."

"And those people really probably wouldn't want to be in a bar that crowded anyway." Kind of a telltale sign that there was at least a party.

"It is kind of funny, though, isn't it?" said Summer, tilting her head and musing as she looked around the bar and considered people still milling around or having already departed. "That there seems to be a slight influx of some random people you either barely ever see or haven't ever seen or haven't seen in a while that conveniently show up just in time for one of these?"

~~That's what happens when the numbers look wonky and the next thing you know...~~

"There definitely is." Skywalkers, what up. "I have liked getting to see the ones I have, though."

Look, sometimes Summer was just contractually obligated to be annoyingly meta in her observations, that's all.

"Who all did you have, anyway? I got Jaye, Arthur, Beaker who did not explode and I'm still a little disappointed about that, the new guy with the nose, and a totally racist bird."

And not a single Skywalker among them!

"Arthur, Bell, Lana, Cade, and Jessica. Mostly people I hadn't met before or hadn't seen in a while." One Skywalker. "You got a racist bird?"

"I got a racist bird," Summer confirmed, with a nod, and the sort of tone that, you know what? If anyone was going to get a racist bird, it would be her, right?

"No, I'm sorry," she then corrected herself, lifting her fingers for quotation marks that were dripping with sarcasm, "not racist, just PATRIOTIC."

Her eyes could not roll in her head hard enough.

"Oh. That kind."

She might be lost in a lot of specific pop culture but she had seen the news!
