PW Saturday: Plant Parenthood

Nell and the kittens were once again at the store in case anyone might want to stop in - whether they were guests or people lacking guests who just felt like visiting.

It wasn't the nicest of days, but everything was green and beautiful inside the store.

"If we weren't down here..." Nell murmured, easing back a little. "I would like to feel your hands on me, like when we were camping indoors."

That was...definitely making it more difficult to pull back, not to mention knowing exactly how best to respond.

"I'd like that, too," Gladio murmured, and that was the easy part, pretty much a given. The next felt like a bit more of a risk.

"Too bad we are down here..."

"Maybe," Nell said carefully. "If I were to lock the door... we could go upstairs to the couch where no one could see us... and you could take off your shirt...?"

Gladio smiled softly, even as he felt conflicting jolts of both excitement and guilt.

"You know it's hard for me to pass up on a chance to take of my shirt," he reminded her. "But I'd hate for you to miss out on all this business..."

Nell looked around the store. "No one but you has come in all day. I don't think I'd be losing much by closing a little early."

She hesitated. "But we don't have to. If it's too much to ask..." Since it wouldn't be going much further than touching.

Gladio just looked at Nell for a moment, kissed her softly again, and brushed a bit of her hair back behind her ear.

"I'd really like that," he assured her. "Not too much to ask at all. As long as you're okay with it."

Nell leaned into his touch. "I am. As long as you don't mind that I'm... not ready to do too much."

She turned her head to kiss his palm. "And if you don't mind I can have the store closed up in seconds. And maybe you can demonstrate that scooping up and carrying thing you're always talking about."

The soft grin on Gladio's face was immediate. "Can I lose the shirt before the scoop-and-carry?" he asked, emboldened easily now that they were clearly on the same page.

That got a laugh and she pushed against him enough to hop down from the counter and head to the door. "You've got thirty seconds," she called over her shoulder and flipped the sign before locking the door. "Less."

She turned back to him with a smile. "Done."

As if that shirt wasn't already gone the moment Nell moved toward the door, so he was there on all his shirtless glory to scoop her up into his arms almost as soon as she turned around.

"And with time to spare," he said, pulling her on to give her a hood, long kiss before heading for the stairs with her.

And wasn't that a beautiful sight.

She caught her breath then laughed delightedly. "Why, Mr. Amicitia! Aren't you the gentleman." And let one hand trail over his arm as the other held onto him as they kissed.

"All that ettiquitte," Gladio murmured between kisses and being mindful of things like stairs, "finally paying off."

Nell laughed between kisses. "Who knew?" She reached out as they reached the top of the stairs to open the door to her house, making sure it would lock behind them. "And me with nothing but common church manners."

She put a hand to his chest. "I trust you. And I'm so happy when I'm with you."

"Good," Gladio paused a moment to look into Nell's eyes and just soak this all in. "That's the best part."

And they would be there in front of the door for a moment, as Gladio was going to take some time to savor a little more kissing where they were before making his way over to her couch.

Oh, her heart.

She nodded. "It is. I hope I make you feel half as happy as I do."

Then her arms were around his neck and all she was thinking about for the moment was how good it felt to be in his arms kissing him.
