When Summer got into the bar that evening, she found a section of the bar itself had been dedicated to Tino having a little arts-and-crafts moment with a little station where he was making jack-o-laterns out of butternut and spaghetti squashes.

Because, apparently, Tiny had already claimed pumpkins, and Summer was tempted to point out that no one had a monopoly on what you could make your jack-o-lanterns out of, but it was...so not even worth getting into it. Especially not when she was just feeling glad that Tino had gone for different types of gourds instead of, like, trying to make them out of onions or something.

Really, you had to appreciate the little things in life.

Come get your karaoke on with everyone's favorite zombie band!

Come get your drink and/or jello on with some people's second favorite bartender! And Tino!

Come have a seat in the lounge, each table decorated with a carved gourd of a non-pumpkin variety!

Come see where apparently Tino is storing a whole lot of squashes!

Second favorite bartender? Those people were all very wrong.

"Hello, Summer," Stark said quietly with a bit less of the usual smile as he slid into his stool.

"Could I try the fancy drink, please?"

"Hello, Stark." Summer's own smile back still held a lot of that apologetic quality that it had pretty much maintained since Saturday, and she was already reaching for what she'd need to mix it up. "And of course. Did you want any jello to start with while I make it?"

"No tomato," Stark said. "But the others, I think. How are you tonight?"

Besides surrounded by possibly cursed squash carvings.

Possibly cursed? Oh, sweetie, no. Definitely.

Summer laid out a neat row of three shots, then, shrugging a little before getting started on the drink in earnest. "Okay, I guess," she said, which was a pretty honest answer, really. "We did Cromulons in class today. Those are the giant heads that'll destroy your planet if they think your music sucks."

The bar had probably not changed a ton, so after getting her bearings, Sabine made her way in.

And then lost her bearings a little when she saw how not much older Summer was compared to her. Which was why her greeting was a, "Huh."

Which was fair!

Summer's own response involved a blink, a squint, a slight lean forward and then finally a cautiously uncertain, "Sabine?"

Raiden examined Tino's work for a few moments after he entered the bar before asking Summer, "Why doesn't he just use the traditional turnips?" because of course Raiden knew about the origins of jack-o'-lanterns. You could eat them, couldn't you?

Turnips? Turnips, you say, Raiden? Almost immediately, Tino seemed to perk up from his side of the bar, and, just as quickly, Summer lifted a warning finger at him and gave a firm "no!"

And then she turned toward Raiden with an exasperated look, saying, "Don't give him any ideas!"

Followed swiftly by a blink of realization.

"Ohgod," she said, a shocked hand to her chest. "Is that what it feels like when people say that about me?"

"Yeah. Hi. Been a while," she said with a little smile. "But also apparently not."

Summer had to grin a little at that, with a little snort, and she shook her head. "I mean," she said, "you don't know. Maybe I'm just aging really, really, really well, but, let's be real, around here, odds definitely lean in towards a bit of time disparity. So hot these days. How long've you been gone, and, even more importantly, what can I get you to drink?"

"I'm sorry?" Raiden asked, unsure what he was sorry for. But that was a feeling he was used to, and Summer did seem kind of upset, so...sorry, Summer. "You have great ideas!"

"Thank you!" Well, if anything, Summer's moods were mercurial and a compliment was usually a good way to sway it in the other direction. "I know not everyone thinks so, so it's nice to hear it every once in a while. And apparently he's doing squash because Tiny already claimed pumpkins."

"But...how do you...pumpkins are everywhere! It's October!"

Summer just sort of shrugged, putting up her hands and shaking her head. "I don't know," she said, "it's honestly not even worth thinking about. That man runs on his own brand of logic.

"But," she said, to even better move away from that mystifying territory of How Tino Works, "what can I get for you, Raiden? And how did your weekend go?"

"Let's do the old fashioned." Normally she'd go for colorful but today called for old fashioneds. "Ten years for me. What about you?"

"Ten seems like a popular number," Summer noted, with a nod, as she went to start mixing up Sabine's drink. "Makes sense. Nice and, like, neat, you know? Good way to fit in a lot of character growth and plot development.

"But a way lot less than that here," she said. "I don't remember exactly when you bounced out of here, but we're heading toward the end of 2023 right now, if that helps."

"Wouldn't be Fandom if it didn't make things a little weird," Sabine shrugged. "So how're things going?"

"You played them good music, I hope," Stark said as he reached for a shot. "I like this planet."

"Did they threaten to destroy anyone?"

Summer shrugged a little bit herself, before setting Sabine's drink in front of her. "Same FH bullshit, different FH year, although it's FU, now, because we're shifting over to a college now, so that's at thing. Overall, though, pretty well, the last big thing to really stir anything was this house that kidnapped people and tortured them, which other people are now living in."

Like you do, apparently.

"You still doing the painting thing?" she asked, definitely for a friend and not because someone's space ship could probably use a little touch-up.

"I mean, yeah, they did," said Summer, finishing up Stark's cocktail and adding it to the shots, "but their Cromulons, that's their whole jam. And the class had to perform for them, but they did a ~~presumably~~ pretty good job. Fake Earth successfully saved yet again!"
