The causeway into town- Wednesday morning

It'd been a minute since Sabine had been back here, though she knew better than to assume how long it had been in Fandom time. Maybe it was a week, maybe it was ten years, but the further she got into town and saw things that had changed, the more she thought it'd been on the longer side. Maybe she didn't know anyone here anymore. Maybe that would even be a good thing?

She decided to take some time and wander. She didn't have anywhere in particular to be, and it was kind of nice to see all the old places. There was a chance she'd make her way over to the warehouse district to see if any of her stuff was still there, but she wasn't sure she wanted to deal with it yet if it wasn't. Keep it simple for the first day back.

Lana was doing a (non-crack-of-dawn) morning run when she spotted someone on the causeway and stopped to see if it was a new arrival.

The hair gave her a bit of nostalgia, so sue her.

Sabine was a little distracted by the scenery, but not so much that she wouldn't notice someone. So she threw off a little salute.

"Morning," Lana called back. "Do you mean to be in Fandom, or do you not know where you are?"

It was a valid question.

"I mean to be," Sabine said, heading over to her. "New welcoming committee?"

Lana smiled. "Sometimes people end up here that don't mean to; best to intercept them before they see magic or aliens or something they'll panic over."

She gave a small bow. "Lana Beniko, at your service."

Yeah, that was a real smile on Sabine's face there.

"Sabine Wren. At yours."

Lana's eyes went wild. "Sabine? Wait - are you the Sabine that knows me?" She was smiling even more herself. "Oh, Force! It's been so long!"

"I definitely know you," Sabine grinned. "It's great to see you."

Still hot, just noting.

Sabine was definitely still hot, yes!

"Well. I suppose..." Lana reached out. "Do you still do hugs?"

"For you? Of course," she said, going in for the hug.

Lana was all here for the hug. "It's so good to see you. And not a teenager anymore!"

"Not for a while. And neither are you," Sabine said.

"Not in a long time," Lana agreed. "But it's only been a few years here in Fandom." She shook her head. "I came back after several decades and found some of my friends were still students. It was a little awkward."

She gestured back toward the island. "Do you want to get coffee or something while we catch up? And do you have a place to stay?"

"Not yet ICly. I just got here," Sabine said. "But I'm not in a rush. Coffee'd be great."
