Well, vacation was over. And Jane had pretty quickly gotten over trying to figure out why the very much an alien Korg had a New Zealand accent after the first day there, you know, for her own sanity.

But now she was dealing with Tino having apparently found the Halloween store on the island and was switching between terrible masks each time Jane looked in his direction. She really should have just stayed home for the evening rather than coming into the bar.

Anakin rolled his eyes at Tiny's mask. "My son--my young son--wanted that one today, too."

Which meant Tino was ripping the mask off like it offended him personally. Because Anakin was just killing all his fun here.

"Did he actually?" Jane asked as Tino flounced over to find another mask to try out.

Anakin grinned. "Not that one in particular, no."

"Well, it'd work on a little kid at least," Jane said with all the knowledge of children she possessed. Which honestly wasn't much.

"And Tino," Anakin said, looking pleased with himself. "Can I have a whiskey, please?"

"You sure you don't want a kiwi drink?" Jane teased, already grabbing the bottle of whiskey.

"Bird or fruit?" Anakin asked.

[needsacatchphrase]

"...fruit," Jane replied, thinking about it. "I don't think I'm at the level of bird cocktails. That might be more Summer's thing."

If it was in jello, that is.

"I don't think I'd drink a bird cocktail," Anakin admitted.

[needsacatchphrase]

"Well, there you go then. No bird cocktails here," Jane said, placing his whiskey down in front of him.

Tino was gonna get ideas, guys.

As long as he didn't consult with Tiny, too. No one needed theme nights across the bars.

"Whiskey has never let me down," Anakin said, taking a sip.

God help them all.

"There's a peanut butter one you should try." Jane, no.

[sith_happened]

"Peanut butter?" Anakin repeated.

[needsacatchphrase]

"You've never tried it? Really?"

C'mon, Anakin. You were showing your age here!

"Really," Anakin said. "I stick to what I know."

[needsacatchphrase]

"Oh, you are either going to love this or never trust me with drinks again," Jane said with a laugh as she poured a shot of Screwball for him.

"I've tried Summer's shots," Anakin said. "Mostly regretted it, but I've tried them."

[needsacatchphrase]

"They're not all bad," Jane said with a loyalty that was possibly unwarranted based on the things that she'd tasted.

[sith_happened]

"She never gives me the nice ones."

[needsacatchphrase]

"Maybe it's just to keep you on your toes."

[sith_happened]

"Maybe I don't want to be on my toes," Anakin said.

[needsacatchphrase]

"So, is that a no to the peanut butter whiskey?" Jane asked, moving to take the shot away from him.

[sith_happened]

"Will you be very disappointed?"

Because that's how Summer got him every time.

[needsacatchphrase]

"I could," Jane replied, laughing and shaking her head. "But if you don't take it, I will."

Because it was actually pretty good.

"Oh, you drink it on purpose?" Anakin asked.

[needsacatchphrase]

"I am in academia," Jane scoffed. "We drink a lot of things on purpose."

Just trying to avoid any students while doing so.

"Right," Anakin said. "You're saying you're tastebuds are dead."

[needsacatchphrase]

"...maybe a little." Just a little.

[sith_happened]

"I'll still try your strange whiskey," Anakin decided. Becuase he made Choices.

"Thank you." So nice of you, Anakin.

The nice part was how it got called strange, right?

"You're welcome."

[needsacatchphrase]

"You'll like it," Jane promised, pushing it back to him.

Anakin took a dubious sniff. "It doesn't smell terrible."

Thank you, Anakin.

"You're avoiding it," Jane pointed out.

[sith_happened]

"Of course not."

Yes, yes he was.

[needsacatchphrase]

"I mean, if you're too scared of it..." Oh no.

[sith_happened]

"I am not afraid," Anakin said, taking a grip on the glass and shooting it back.

[needsacatchphrase]

Jane raised her eyebrows in a 'well?' gesture at if he liked it or not.

"Better than a punch in the face," Anakin allowed. "Which I've had a few times."

[needsacatchphrase]

"Somehow I'm not shocked by that," Jane had to say.

[sith_happened]

"I'm very hurt to hear that," Anakin lied.

[needsacatchphrase]

"And I remember your summer classes," Jane replied simply.

[sith_happened]

"I haven't been punched for one of those yet," Anakin said proudly. "I did, however, accidentally make a giant plastic singing fish that gained sentience and tried to kill us all."

[needsacatchphrase]

"...you know, that's more concerning than getting punched," Jane said slowly.

[sith_happened]

"I didn't know it would gain sentience," Anakin said.

[needsacatchphrase]

"Did you defeat it?" Did you, Anakin? Could you?

[sith_happened]

"Of course we did," Anakin said. "We sent it to the moon, I think."
