It was November 1st, so Summer was not at all surprised to come into Caritas for her shift that evening and find that Tino was already putting up Christmas garlands and lights and other decor, including outfitting the zombie band with Santa hats and a lot of candy canes everywhere.

"Just...skipping right over Thanksgiving now, huh?" she said. "You do know that the day before Thanksgiving is considered one of the biggest day for business for bars, right? Why would you just skip right over that?"

Of course, she actually had anticipated this, and, in fact, came prepared with her specials board, but she felt the key difference here was that she had done it ironically, while Tino? Probably not so much.

Maybe be slightly confused about how it seems like you've missed a whole month somehow.

Stark was, actually, slightly confused.

"This seems... early?"

Only if you hadn't seen all the Christmas decorations already in stores last week, Stark!

"I thought it was still pumpkin and apple season, not peppermint."

He'd been wrong before so Stark gave a little shrug and slid onto his usual stool. "Hello, Summer."

"I'm doing it ironically," Summer informed him, because it was important to make the distinction, "as a joke about the tendency to start pushing Christmas stuff as soon as Halloween is over, but I think Tino might genuinely be trying to make it a thing?"

Either way, she was already setting down shots and giving Stark a smile.

"Hello, Stark. How's it going?"

"Do I have to drink them ironically?" Stark asked even though he had no idea what that would even entail.

"And it's fine. How are you? Good day?"

"I don't think you possess even remotely enough irony in your entire body to effectively pull that off," said Summer, with a fond tilt of her head. "And, yeah, it's a great day."

Her grin got even brighter and more excited. "Annie finally had her babies today! They're pretty cute for being nothing but raisins right now, and the only casualty was Diego's hand."

"She did? Good. That's very good. She sent you pictures? What happened to his hand?"

Stark could make an educated guess, having been there when Aeryn gave birth in the middle of a battle.

"And if your drinks are ironic will I have enough irony in my body to drink them ironically after I've had a few?"

"She did send pictures," Summer confirmed. "Tiny little wrinkled faces in adorable little knit caps. And, I mean, you know, Annie's got superstrength, so I'll let you draw the rest of the conclusion about Diego's hand. Probably a good thing they were already at the hospital.

"As for the drinks? I guess there's only one way to find out, right?"

Cue her nudging some of those jello shots forward.

"You want to go in for the cocktail, too?"

Stark winced a little in sympathy.

"Could I see the pictures?" he asked. He did like babies and Annie was Annie.

"And yes. The cocktail too. Please."

He was going to start with the fruitcake jello though.
