When Summer came in and Tino warned her that there were a bunch of wild turkeys in the stock room, she expected...well, she expected the whole thing to be stuffed with gobblers that would start invading the bar as soon as she opened the door.

But, no, it turned out it was Wild Turkey, the whiskey, and there was just an excessive amount o fit. Which made a change in course on her cocktail feature a good idea, but also made her wonder if Tino thought he was being funny, or if he just didn't even think of how saying something like that, at this time of year, would be cause for concern.

"Hello, Summer."

Yes, Stark was giving Summer one of those smiles he only ever gave her and he was sliding on to his usual stool.

And then he was looking dismayed as he read the specials.

"Mac and cheese?" Why, Summer? Why.

"Hello, Stark," said Summer, whose smile went from the usual softness that accompanied that greeting to something much broader and brighter at that shift in his expression.

And promptly set the mac-n-cheese shot in front of him, though she did follow it up with the others, as well as she proudly announced, "It's a comfort food staple!"

"It doesn't look comforting," Stark said as he eyed it warily. "It looks...odd."

He'd still eat it though. For her.

"Just odd?" Summer checked, with a lift of an eyebrow. "Not gross?"

It was good to know what the spectrum was on these things!

"It sounds gross," Stark said. "And looks odd. I'm a little worried how it will taste."

He'd already picked it up though.

"Like cheese," Summer offered, bright, chipper and helpful as always, but if it was genuinely encouraging, she was also starting to mix up a cocktail for Stark to help wash it down as well, "and noodles. And maybe a little vodka, but, I mean, hey, vodka sauce for pasta is thing, right?"

"I don't think jello is meant to have cheese in it," Stark said mildly but he lifted the tiny food crime to his mouth anyway.

"No," he said, swallowing and making a terrible face. "It's not."

"Literally thousands of mid-century cookbooks would like a word with that statement," Summer pointed out. But then she gave Stark a warm, grateful smile as she set down the cocktail he didn't even order. "But thank you for trying it."

"The cookbooks are wrong," Stark told her as he picked up the drink and took a very grateful sip.

"But someone has to taste these things to be sure, I think. It might as well be me." And it made her happy. He'd do any number of things just to make her happy.

"Hey, man," said Summer, "people back then actually did love that shit, just look at Steeeeeve Rogers!"

Who we all have to thank for all of this, really.

"But it's good that you're here to verify for less Earth-centric, retro-focused tastebuds."

And who didn't love an excuse to look at Steve Rogers and America's Ass?

"Did they love it or did they all go briefly mad?" Stark asked. Look, he had some experience with that.

"I'm happy to help. Happier when there are other things to taste as well. Like tiny pies."

Tiny pies he suspected may have been made with him in mind which just made them even better.

"Are the tiny pies enough to make up for the cheesy jello?" Summer asked, and, as she said it, she blinked with another thought.

"....I wonder what the cheese panda would think about cheese in jello, actually."

It could go either way!

....she was definitely going to send Apu over to ask. She would ask Prompto, but that man had a family.

"Would he think it was a crime against cheese?" Stark wondered, picking up his pie shot and biting into it.

"Much better than cheesy jello, thank you. The cheese panda might like cheese pie? That would be better than cheese jello I think."

It was a very low bar here.

"Would a cheese pie," asked Summer, because apparently this was where their conversation was going and, amazingly, they weren't even near any pot right now (unless Tino was totally holding out on her), "basically just be a cheesecake, though? If you think about it, cheesecake is definitely more like a cheesepie, and, dammit, I really want cheesecake now."

They didn't need any drugs to get like this!

"It might be? I don't know. Maybe we should find out. I could look it up. And...I think the bakery is closed but maybe we could have cheesecake tomorrow? Or make one but I've never made that." ~~as far as the player could remember~~

They didn't need them, no, buuuut...

"I've done cheesecake before," said Summer, with a nod, "but it's going to be pretty late when I'm out, I am not going to want to make cheesecake when I get home, but it could definitely be something for tomorrow."

They could still have some. Maybe not tonight. Tonight there was just alcohol and jello.

"We could make one," Stark said. "Together? Or I could get one from the bakery and then we could just eat it."

And maybe eat an actual meal too since sometimes Stark neglected to do that when left to his own devices. Oops?

"For now, more jello." The orange one next.

"Do you want to make one?" Summer wondered. "Or just order it? Because, honestly, both have their pros and cons."

A beat.

"Probably more pros on the ordering side, though, not gonna lie."

For a woman with a million jobs, Summer could be pretty lazy, you know.

"Maybe we could make one another time." Maybe even to share with other people? What a concept!

"For tomorrow someone else can make it and we can enjoy it. And maybe sleep in? Unless you don't want company tonight."
