Big surprise, Apu was upset with Prompto again, because he'd brought Prompto cookies for National Cookie Exchange Day, and, of course, Prompto, not even knowing this was a thing they were doing, didn't have any cookies for him.

But Prompto chuckled and thought fast and shook his head. "Naw, man," he insisted, "I totally have cookies for you, they're just not here yet, Liz is bringing them in later so she can put some finishing touches on them."

Liz was not bringing them in later, there were no cookies to put finishing touches on, but they worked in a general store that sold just about everything, so whenever Apu was busy, Prompto was going to just sneak a few cookies off the shelves, and a big decorative Christmas platter, and arrange them and cover them up in Saran wrap and then, once it was finally set, make a big deal about it.

"Ta-dah! See? I told you I had cookies for you! They look great, don't they? Oh, you didn't hear Liz come in? Well, she's kind of quiet like that sometimes, you know. No, no, she couldn't stay, had to get home to the baby, you know how it is! Anyway, enjoy! Happy National Cookie Exchange Day, Apu!"

Apu...didn't really seem convinced, and Prompto realized, in retrospect, including Oreos was probably not the smartest idea.

Munching on a cookie from Apu's cookie platter, Prompto wiped some crumbs from his fingers before responding, but still got a small smudge of frosting on his phone.

i know what we should really do? I should call iggy and see if he's got time to make some before we leave! Those would blow any cookies i'd buy here right out of the water!
