Summer had gotten some new earrings for Christmas, so she'd shifted her pink to the bottom of her outfit to make room for a more blue to go with it today, which meant that when she came in, Tino made a joke about not recognizing who she was at first.

At least....she thought it was a joke? But as the day went on, she actually wasn't so sure, and pointed out that she'd literally also came in with a tray of jello, so...

But, apparently, Tino only saw color, and so pink pants were throwing him off.

He was also claiming to have spent his Christmas with Apu and Tiny, though, so Summer decided it was definitely a 'better just ignore Tino if she can help it' kind of night.

Where Christmas songs are officially outlawed until next year. #SorryNotSorry.

Where if you're not careful, Tino might try to show you his holiday pictures to prove he has friends, but Summer's pretty sure it's just photoshopped.

As long as Tino wasn't being shown any holiday photos of Summer's.

"Hello, Summer," Stark said with the usual soft smile (perhaps still tinged with a hint of smugness) as he took his usual spot at the bar. "Good day so far? Could I have fireworks, please?"

To be fair, he probably did see quite a few of them on her Instagram already. A few. Definitely not all....

"Hello, Stark," Summer greeted back with a smirk. "And sure. But I think it might be a little early to shut down the bar for that."

Of course, though, she was still setting down that shot for him, as well as the other two, because of course he'd be having all three, at least.

Had Stark made any of the insta photos? #GetYouASituationship?

"No shutting down the bar yet," he agreed, picking up the shot he'd asked for and giving the sushi one a skeptical glance to see if it included any fish. There wasn't any that he could see...

"Did you enjoy having no class?"

It would have been almost impossible for him to not make it into a few, really. Although mostly caught unawares, somewhere in the background, like some sort of social media cryptid.

"I did," Summer sighed happily, also getting started on Stark's inevitable mimosa. "There's something so restorative about a break week or two, you know?"

Granted, the handful of days of being disgustingly spoiled and lavished upon at a luxe resort probably didn't hurt with that, either.

"How was your day?"

"It is nice, having nothing that needs to be done," Stark agreed. "Though I still had radio this morning. It was very quick. And I still have something of a routine. Coming here, to see you."

A little routine was helpful. Seeing Summer was always good.

"The day was quiet for me, after the radio. I was looking through my new cupcake book. For ideas. I may have found some."

"Oh, yeah?" asked Summer, brows lifted in intrigue. "Anything you wanna share now, or am I gonna have to wait with the rest of the class?"

"I thought maybe something spicy, to start," Stark told her, grinning.

Since they'd just come back from the Spice Island and all.

"Since that could go well or not. Something delicious or something horrible. What do you think?"

"Oh, I can definitely do spicy," said Summer, with a grin right back and with confidence that Stark could attest to that, for real.

"But all innuendo aside," she added a beat (and one finished cocktail) later, "I do think that's a great idea to start us out. Really good way to really set the tone of what we're going for. Only save it for Week Two, Week One needs to be Bullshit Intros and, I don't know, make us a cupcake that tell us about who you are as a person. Don't waste a class idea on an intro week."

Stark could, in fact, attest to that. Though there were many levels of spiciness as yet unexplored.

He took a sip of his cocktail to cover his smirk. "

"We can save spicy for later. After introductions."

Although in certain circumstances some people might like to go straight to spicy and skip introductions.

"Introductions for the first class. And we have a whole week after this one, still. Are you...do you have plans, for Sunday?"

There was a lot to be said about skipping introductions altogether, it was true, but not in an academic setting.

"Why? What's going on Sunda--" A beat. "Oh! Right! New Years. Yeah. Duh. Of course I've got plans."

"You do?"

Summer, wasn't it sometimes too easy?

"With wh-...you're teasing? Aren't you?"

It really, really was, but, then again, so was Summer (ayyyy...)

"Mm-Mm," Summer answered, with a shake of her head. "Dead serious. It's New Years, of course I have plans."

It was easy, but Summer was not completely heartless here, so, a beat later, she did add.

"With you. Obviously."

"I didn't want to assume."

But Stark was grinning happily at her now, having already moved past his initial worried expression.

"Good. I'm glad. Is there a party here? Kitty usually has a party. Or did you want to go somewhere?"

Maybe one of these days, Summer should give Stark a reason to not just assume, but this was not that day.

"I don't know if there's one here or not," she admitted. "I haven't heard anything, but if there is, I wanna come here, but if not, we can find somewhere good as a plan B."

"Nowhere your grandfather might be," Stark said quickly.

No space New Year. Just in case.

"Where would you like to go if we weren't here? I've never been anywhere that wasn't here for the new year. It wasn't so easy to keep track before I was here."

"The only place officially Grampa Rock-proof is my living room," Summer pointed out, "and I have at least ten more years before spending New Years in my living room is even remotely an acceptable option. But obviously we could just hop over to Baltimore. Oooh, or Times Square! Or we can do like I did for my birthday that one time and portal around the world and hit, like, every time zone...."

"I enjoyed your birthday that year," Stark said, smiling softly. "I enjoyed your birthday this year."

Both had been good in different ways.

"But that might be too much, to do as many stops as we did for your birthday." They'd need someone to drag them both home and pour them into a bed.

"Maybe," Summer allowed, because it would actually be more stops than her birthday, although they would be much more spread out, "but..."

Here she paused, for dramatic effect, giving Stark a sweet smile.

"Wouldn't you like to get to kiss me every hour, on the hour, for pretty much a whole day straight?"

Stark had an alien constitution but he still might not survive and sure, Summer was half Sanchez but could she survive that many New Year's celebrations?

"No reason I couldn't do that here," he pointed out. "Or anywhere else." Like at a luxury tropical resort?

"But I would. Very much. You know I would, Summer." His earlier grin had faded into something softer and much more sincere. "As many kisses as I could get."

Careful, Stark! You knew Summer had a sincerity allergy!

"Well," Summer said, "I guess doing just the one does kind of at least make it more special, huh?"

Sometimes the sincerity just could not be contained!

"Mmmm." It was a noncommital sort of noise. One could be special. Several could still be special if they tried.

"It might. But I...I'm up for whatever you might like to do. I did pick where to go for Christmas. Maybe this weekend is your turn to choose."

"That is true," Summer allowed. "Alright, then, I'll pick. MAybe with a few extra stops, depending on how things work out."

"I think we could both survive a few stops," Stark said. "If they were good stops."

As if Summer would pick bad celebrations. Stark knew better.

"Even if there is something here, we could stop somewhere else earlier. Do we need to go shopping?"

Where you can just get away from the crush of the bar and have a seat and hopefully a good time!
