After the whole wild adventure on Innistrad followed immediately by being a horse for a day, Prompto was really hoping for just a quiet day at work, but he knew that was going to be a pretty big ask. Still, it was Groundhog's Day, right? Which was kind of a silly holiday, if you asked him, but groundhogs were adorable, and as long as Apu didn't try to turn it into a whole whack-a-mole situation, things should be pretty chill and fine, right?

Well, wrong, because apparently Groundhog's Day was too mainstream, and Apu was going to be a hipster about February 2nd and celebrate National Ukulele Day instead.

Great.

For the most part, Prompto was taking advantage of having some earbuds with him so he could just listen to something else, but he took them out when helping customers, and it was then that he realized that not only was Apu celebrating National Ukulele Day, but he was also...

"....Is he....making a YouTube apology video right now?" Prompto asked the cheese panda, who just shook his head, shrugged, and slouched off to go organize his brie.

Well, at least it was distracting him from thinking way too much about Wednesday.

And right on lunchtime there came Liz's usual check in text.

When Liz's text came in at around the expected time, Prompto took a moment to proclaim, loudly and pointedly, "Oh NO. This could be an emergency, I better take this to the office, just in case."

Apu and his ukulele didn't care,Prompto. He was just going to add 'abandoning station for personal business' to the list of grievances.

Once the door closed behind him, he sighed in relief as the blissfully muted ukulele music and plopped into Summer's chair at the desk to text Liz back.

love and miss u 2!!! 😊😊🥰🥰😘😘😘 glad to have hands again! Back still kind hurts, but not too bad? Apu's got a ukulele. Thank gods for earplugs 🤣🤣🤣

Im glad you’re feeling a bit better 🤗 Why does Apu have a ukulele or is it better not to ask? And we’re good here, even though I think Noctra does miss having a pony around 🥰🥰🥰

i swear this week! And she can keep on missing that pony! I prefer being people-shaped, and we don't have room for one in the apartment anyway!

Prompto's sigh was a truly dismal one....but at least he could appreciate the lumbar support on Summer's chair back here, damn. He leaned back in it, propping his feet up on the desk as he typed back.

only one small problem with that unfortunately! Chocobos aren't exactly common in these parts, are they?

Most we could do is probably get her chicken, cross our fingers, and hope for the best. 🙄

That's true, even though the chicken idea might work since I think Noctra's at the point where she loves all animals! 😃

maybe i need to start bringing her to the shelter with me some of these wednesdays, then. Definitely couldn't hurt to foster that! I mean i'm right there with her!

We should probably hold off until we're sure we can keep up with her walking before we jump into any big chicken decisions tho!

That sounds like a wonderful idea, Noctra would definitely love going to the shelter :)

And that's true, if her crawling is any indication, we may have a hard time keeping her away from any potential future chickens!
