Stifling a little bit of a yawn, Summer came into the store that morning with every intention of ignoring whatever Apu was focusing on to put her own efforts into just shoving everything pink and red and Valentines-y to the front of the store in one last push for people to pick up some not-quite-but-might-as-well-be last minute V-Day shopping to the forefront.

It was only once that was done that Apu approached her to plop a stovepipe hat on her head, and she realized that he was already wearing one, so was the cheese panda, and there were little ones for the turtle and the canary, too, although the canary, much like Summer herself, refused to wear it and had already taken it off.

She squinted a little, especially since she was now realizing there were small beards involved.

"Lincoln's birthday?" she guessed.

Lincoln's birthday, it was confirmed, and she shook her head, and got ready to get into a good argument over how offering a penny off of everything in the store to celebrate was just going to be more annoying than anything when you get right down to it, an argument that came to an abrupt and truly offended end when Summer was so bold as to mention that the penny should be abolished at this point anyway.

Who knew Apu had such strong feelings about the penny?

(Although, really, she should have figured).

Yes, Summer kind of figured she could guess what Stark would answer, but sometimes she did just ask to find out if she was right.

Stabby is stabby and he pinches too and the nurses don't seem like they want hugs they aren't very huggy people I don't think there at better people to hug

yeah no definitely don't be hugging the nurses unless they want em but thats a fair point about the pinching. rip to whoever works over there on st patricks day and forgets to wear green

Of course, the next logical follow-up would be to ask him who better there might be to hug, but Summer knew she could do better than the obvious.

Summer, meanwhile, could not have been more delighted with the direction his response took.

For now he was going to blink rapidly at his phone for a bit. Look, he didn't object to the sentiment! Last spring had made that clear enough.

Hey, Summer had been keeping her objectification of that tall, muscly drink of Cup Noodle to a minimum these days out of respect, bit you couldn't blame her for seizing an opening like that if you were just going to hand it to her like that.

Summer smirked at her phone a little, because, really, there was only so much talking about hugging Anakin Skywalker a person could handle while dancing around the obvious.

Well, Summer had figured 'this is exactly what I want to do for Valentine's Day' would be a pretty cut-and-dry done deal last night, but she'd been wrong about that, so who knew?

Stark grinned down at his phone. This earned him some eye rolls from the nursing staff which he chose to ignore.
