The Beach - Monday Morning

Now that most of the island was away on the trip and there wasn’t any classes that week, Cutter and Connor decided to use their allowed two hours of outside time to have a walk on the beach.

They’d had their morning check in with Becker and now they were taking the time to enjoy how nice it was being outside and taking advantage of this.

“I’m glad we could do this,” Cutter smiled at Connor as they walked along the beach.

[for the boyfriend but the beach can be open!]

Connor stood along the edge of the water and looked out at the water with a smile. It had been far too long since they had taken the time to just be outside, no errands to worry about doing, no class to run to and from, just a couple of hours to be outside for a change.

"Me too," Connor said as they walked, making sure to stay out of the water because of the ankle monitors. It was still far too cold to really get in the water anyway. "I had almost forgotten how nice the beach was."

"It is really nice isn't it, it will be even better in the warmer months and we can go fossil hunting again without needing to worry about our ankle monitors," Cutter said with a smile as he imagined their future without house arrest.

"Oh for sure! The day we get the deng things off, we should just chuck them into the sea" he said with a broad grin. "Be a nice little send off I think" he said with a smile as he too imagined finally being done with the whole house arrest mess.

Cutter smiled at that as well, "I think we can definitely do that once they're off," he said, "I mean I don't think we have to hand the ankle monitors back once they're off right?"

"Don't think so. I mean I doubt Christine really cares once it's done.... shes only doing this to try and catch us breaking house arrest terms" Connor noted as they walked. "So once we finish it shes probably just gonna be sulking that she lost... again" he said with a smirk.

Cutter grinned, "aye, it will be good when we don't have to deal with her after this, hopefully she'll take the hint and go back to White Hall," he knew it wasn't likely but it would be nice if they didn't have to deal with her or Wilder again.

"We can hope. She's definitely thrown everything she has at us and still hasn't succeeded. We have the artifact, she hasn't gotten the ARC... the rest of the team is safe and recovering..." Connor sighed and shook his head. "Hopefully this is the last we will have to deal with her and Wilder." He gave Cutter's hand a small squeeze as he looked over at his boyfriend and smiled. "Because I have far more important things to think about and focus on than them."

Cutter smiled, "aye, hopefully the worst is behind us and we can look forward to our future, you graduating and us going back to the ARC and not having to deal with any of the politics of Whitehall,"

"I still cant believe how close I am to graduating..." Connor said as he bent down and picked up a small piece of driftwood and threw it into the waves. "Seemed like it was such an impossible thing, being able to finally graduate... but now it is closer than ever!"

"I'm so proud of you," Cutter smiled as he watched Connor throw the driftwood into the waves, "you're going to have a wonderful career and all your hard work will pay off,"

"Wouldn't have made it this far without you Nick... Id still be a geeky university student hung up on conspiracy theories" Connor said as he gave a grin and a small wink to Cutter. "Might have even ended up with a girlfriend" he teased

Cutter went a little red at that callback to their very first meeting, "now that would be a different turn of events, if you had listened to my advice on that first meeting," he said a little sheepishly.

"Aye well, thankfully for us both I was smarter than that" he said with a grin at the flush he saw on Cutter's cheeks. "I wouldn't change anything though.. right here with you is where I want to be" he said wishing he could put into words just how much so.

“And this is where I want to be,” Cutter smiled, “right here with you, I love you so much Connor,” and he leaned in to give him a kiss.

There was going to be absolutely no complaints from Connor about standing there on the beach, kissing the man he loved. "Love you too Nick, so much" he said softly before returning the kiss, his mind drifting to just how nice it was and how happy he would be to just be able to spend the rest of his life right there, like that.

Cutter happily kept that kiss going for as long as possible, it was all so nice and this was what he wanted, his future with Connor and he desperately wanted that future, they just had to get through the last bit of house arrest first.

Connor was enjoying the moment as well, how nice it was and what possibilities there could still be in store for them when things were back to normal. He smiled and kept the kiss going, breaking it only when he felt the water of the waves hit his toes. He laughed as he jumped back, both from the coldness of the water but also to keep from getting wet. He looked at Cutter and laughed as he pulled him back and wrapped his arms around him and just held him close.

Cutter couldn't help but laugh as well when that water came in and they jumped back from the water and he leaned happily against Connor, "I wish we could spend longer out here," he said softly, knowing that they only had a certain amount of time to enjoy being there.

"I know but it's nice being out here while we can. We can just enjoy the time, and make plans for when we can come back and spend as much time out here as we want." Connor smiled as he leaned against Cutter and looked down the beach. "I know as soon as it is warm enough I want to go swimming again! Even if it will always be a bit chilly compared to the islands where we were fro the school trip" he said with a fond smile as he thought back to those trips.

Cutter gave a smile at that, "that will be nice, maybe we can even try windsurfing again?" he hadn't been windsurfing since everything had happened but now after being under house arrest, it was something that he definitely wanted to try and pick up again.

"Could always book a private little island getaway, just the two of us" Connor said with a grin and a small flush. "A nice tropical island somewhere, all the windsurfing and snorkeling and swimming we want!"

Cutter grinned at that, "that does sound wonderful, maybe we could ask James and see if he has an recommendations," it would not surprise him at all if Lester did have a list of the best private tropical islands.

"I'm sure he can give us a few recommendations" Connor said with a grin. He held Cutter close and stared out across the beach. He knew they were running short on time and would have to head back soon. But it was nice to have a moment like this together. "Wherever we end up going it will be absolutely perfect if I get to see it all with you Nick."

Cutter smiled as he leaned against Connor, enjoying being outside with him but he knew that there time was running out and they'd have to head back before they raised alarms with their monitors, "it will be perfect, being with you, not being under house arrest, it will be something nice to look forward to,"

"Aye and in the meantime, I am looking forward to spending the rest of the day with you back at the apartment" Connor said as he shifted and leaned closer and kissed Cutter. They had to go back, but there was time for one more kiss... always time for one more kiss.

Cutter smiled as he happily returned the kiss, it had been a lovely morning being out and about but they still had a small window before they had to return and yes there was always time for one more kiss.
