Charlie had had a wonderful week. However, spending your nights doing more interesting things than sleeping took a toll on a girl, so she was here for an extra large decadent coffee. Caffeine was an absolute necessity and while she was at it, a couple of decadent pastries sounded awfully good. She'd certainly burned enough calories to earn them. If she'd worried about such things.

Once she had her treats she settled down at a table by the window to do some people watching.

You know what might just the thing to help Graham with that focus problem he'd been having?

Caffeine!

That'll work real well!

Either way, he was strolling into the Perk with a sugary latte in mind, and promptly got distracted by something just as energizing and sweet!

"Oh, hi, Charlie! How's it going?"

"Hellloooo, Graham!" Charlie was more than happy to see him. "And how is my soon to be knight friend today?"

Graham, unceremoniously, pulled out a chair at Charlie's table to join her, dropping into it with a sigh. "Frustrated," he admitted,giving his head a shake. "It has not been a good week for knightly training at all, Charlie..."

"Really?" Charlie said a little wickedly. "I found it very handy for building stamina. Isn't that a good quality for a knight?"

Graham huffed out a faint laugh, and the little roses budding on his cheeks suggested that maybe he knew what Charlie meant more than he was letting on.

"It's one of the most important ones for a knight to have, actually," he said. "That'll help you get through most of the things in the tournament! 'Cept I haven't been able to focus on anything long enough to even build up a little stamina.

"Err..."

A slight pause, and those roses went to full bloom.

"Well, mostly anything."

Some, uh, reading time excepted.

"Mmmhmmm..." Charlie gave him a knowing smile. She did listen to radio after all. "I see."

She tilted her head to the side. "I'm pretty good at focus. And I'm always happy to help a friend work on focus. And stamina. Through... exercise. Fun exercise."

A sly grin. "Like, say... tag and hide and seek?"

Why? What did you think she meant?

"Oh," said Graham, as the red spread to his ears and made them practically glow, but it did nothing to detract from a particular eagerness in his grin, "I bet you know some real good hiding spots for hide and seek, too..."

In this world and out of it.

"Oh, you have no idea," Charlie said, his glowing ears making her grin grow. "I am a champion hide and seek player. And a pretty good hand at tag as well."

"Seems like those are some good skills for a Knight Hopeful to work on," said Graham, with an extra thoughtful stroke of his chin before he leaned forward over the table a little with that hand now making an imploring gesture as his voice dropped down a bit...clandestinely, "Think you can share any of your secrets? Maybe teach me a thing or two? Maybe all my focus needs is a good teacher..."

And some of those really good hiding spots, ahem.

Charlie leaned in even closer. "I would be delighted to work with you," she assured him. "In fact, I would go so far asto say that it would absolutely be my pleasure."

And yours, too, Graham.

Zounds, he sure hoped so! On both accounts!

"After your coffee, then?" Graham asked, with maybe a less-than-subtle peek over toward her cup to get a gauge on just how long from now that might be.

"Why wait?" Charlie asked. "They have to go cups. Let's get hiding and seeking!"
