Caritas, Saturday
Jane was going to pointedly have a good night at work here tonight and nothing Tino could do would change that. Because it had been a surprisingly good week all around after, you know, the whole last week before that.
Specials
Pickleback
The Pickled Surfer
Pickle Martini
And she for sure wasn't going to get dragged into an explanation from Tino about the weird pickle theme there.

"Hey there, Jane," Dean said taking a seat and looking at the specials. "What's with the pickle thing or is Tino again?"

And in return, Sabine got the acknowledgement head bob and a raised glass. “Hey there Sabine, what’s the good word?”

“Went out of town for a couple of days and had some barbecue with my housemates,” Dean said with a grin. “If this is a normal week I’ll take it. Do anything fun?”

“Virginia,” Dean replied as he sipped his drink. “There were a couple of strange deaths. It was a pretty easy trip. What did you doodle? I checked out some of the artwork over at the Warehouses. You’re really talented.”

The lowest bar. Just the lowest bar possible.

Dean’s face showed his revulsion at the thought of Malort. “Ugh. I had that once. Rated like sweat socks with a hint of citrus,” Dean replied. “I’ll avoid the pickle theme and go with a whiskey, please. How was the rest of your week?”

And also it was sweet of him.
"How was the frozen people... thing?" Look, lingo was stiff forthcoming for it.

“I’m glad you enjoyed it. Uh. The barbecue not the frozen people,” Dean said even though it was probably obvious. “Turns out it was a simple case. Just a ghost who had a bad death. Was easy enough to handle on my own. Otherwise I’d be calling this lady I know with muscles and a hammer.”

"So, what exactly do you do? To fix things there."
no subject
“Oh. Well, typically with ghosts you have to find their body and do a small ritual to release their spirit,” Dean said avoiding the grisly details.

Dean shrugged and decided to dive into it. “Basically you dig up their corpse, throw salt and kerosene on it and light the body on fire. Not really magic but it’s a way to cleanse the body and force the spirit to move on.”

And apparently an opportunity to be horrified at the specials. "What happened there?"

"So, quieter week?" Sabine asked.

"Much," Jane agreed. "But, if you listened to the radio, it was busy for everyone."
