Summer was feeling infinitely better now that she'd had time last night to dye her hair back to (or fairly close to, anyway!) her natural color, and working on her jello shots today and tending to her new tattoo (still bandaged up for the night, just below the base of her neck) had helped with that, as well. And she was glad she didn't have to go through the whole 'my coworker doesn't recognize me' bit with Tino like she had to do with Apu.

Because you know Tino would have so been obnoxious like that.

Instead, she only had to deal with Tino being the normal amounts of obnoxious as she came in to get things set up for the evening as they should be.

"The dragonfruit are the best ones," she said helpfully.

"Two dragonfruit and the kung-fu punch" Dean clarified. "The punch is for me."

Hey, at least Rey wasn't drinking alone!

"Thank you," Rey said. "I usually don't have this many."

But after a certain point you just go 'sure!'

Dean handed one shot to Rey and clinked her glass. "Bottoms up!" Dean said as he downed his shot.

"Bottoms up!" Rey agreed.

And after doing the shot said, "Yeah, these are a problem."

"How much of a problem?" Dean asked as she finished her own two shots. "I''m going to need a break' problem or 'I'm going to need a bucket' problem?"

"It doesn't taste like alcohol and I should have some water," she said.

Sipping her drink.

"You're at least thinking coherently," Dean said studying Rey again. "Can you walk straight?"

Rey took the big steps back so that she could walk a little to see, and the answer was: kind of. There was definitely some steering to the left.

"Completely fine," she said.

Ehhhh.

"Okay, okay, okay," Dean said getting up to try and steer Rey back to her seat. "Maybe that last shot was a bad idea. Tino? Water!"

"Thank you," she said. "I'm sorry I made you drink frogs."

"I did that to myself," Dean said shaking off the apology as she went through his coat looking for his Tylenol tube. Nope. Used it all up at Waffle House. She handed Rey the glass of water. "Drink this slowly. Promise me you'll drink water when you get home and take some aspirin before you go to sleep. Do you want me to get you a rickshaw?"

"Maybe," she said again. Yes. "I've done this before, it's just rare."

Ignore that it was last week. Listen, she was 23.

"Sure thing, Dr. Pepper," Dean teased. "Say the alphabet backwards."

"No," she said simply, sipping her water.

“Would you do it for a Klondike bar?”

Mmm. Think about it, Rey. Chocolate covered ice cream with no room for a stick.

"I didn't even grow up with your alphabet. Ask me when I'm sober."

Then. Then she would.
