Caritas; Wednesday [07/10].

Tino was telling Summer all about his weekend, which sounded enough like any other weekend that Tino would tell her about that she started to become increasingly uncertain as to whether or not, from what he was telling her, he had actually been affected by the weekend at all. She tried to ask some revealing questions to help her pin it down a little more, but to no avail. Each answer seemed as frustratingly vague and uncertain as the last.

So finally, she just straight up and asked how old he was now and how old he was during the weekend, to which he just gasped and got all offended that she would even ask him something like that, and then he gave her the cold shoulder for the rest of the shift.

Which, really, was Summer preferred state of being behind the bar, so it all kind of worked out, really.

He was exactly as charming as he thought he was, thank you. It was literally a ~~deeply poorly defined~~ part of his mutant powers.

"Oui, that they are," Remy agreed, tilting his head and side-eying Tino. "Don't know if I would be telling my woes to that particular bartender, though."

Margo snorted. "Yeah, no shit," she said. "I'm not actually even sure what he's here for, besides fucking up the bar's drink supply."

Remy tilted his head. "For the ambiance, maybe? He almost matches the zombies."

"He's more pathetic than the zombies," Margo judged. "Maybe he's just here to give them something to feel better about."

"Perhaps he is a fan, hmm? Tagging along on their coattails."

"A zombie groupie?" Margo said. She pulled a face. "Ew."

'Ew' summed it up well, yes.

"Fortunately, we have another bartender to order from. One who enjoys a good theme."

"And spins a mean drink," Margo agreed, looking towards the specials board. "Not always the easiest thing to find."

"Vérité," Remy agreed. "A good person to know about."

He sipped his drink.

"Remy LeBeau," he said. He didn't offer her a hand -- she didn't seem the handshake sort, and he wasn't here for the kind of flirting that came with offering a hand-kiss. "And you?"

She probably wouldn't have been impressed with that either, let's be real.

"High Queen Margo the Destroyer," she said, tilting her head. "But 'Margo' is fine."

She just had to drop that one in there.

"Ah." Remy dipped his head in a little bow. (Emphasis on little; he was a sort of royalty himself, after all. "It's an honor, your majesty. High Queen of. . . ?"

"Fillory," Margo said, and left that small pause just to see if she'd be surprised this time and this guy actually knew the books.

Alas, no. But to be fair, Remy had had the sort of childhood that was the subject of children’s books, not the sort that involved reading a lot of them.

“Afraid I don’t know it. Must be a formidable one, though.”

Margo's smile was downright wry, though the look in her eye was still somewhat combative. "It's a shithole," she said, "But thanks, I like to think I make the good impression it doesn't deserve."

"Agreed, cherié," Remy said, then tilted his head inquiringly. "What brings you here, then? Had to get out of the shithole for awhile?"

There was no judgement in his tone. It wasn't like he spent all his time around the Guild he was nominally King of, either.

"A f--" Oh hey, Tino had found that bullhorn again. "--useless waste of a God kicked me out for shiggles," Margo said. "But joke's on him. He's dead now."

Not because of her, but she was happy to let strangers assume so.

Remy startled faintly at the bullhorn and shot Tino a glare.

"You killed God?"
