The Big Texan, Friday Afternoon

The Waffle House might be gone again today, but at least there was steak, and where there was a 72 ounce steak...there would be Raiden.

Just in general. He didn't even care about the challenge aspect, although he did ask if he could get another steak if he finished super early, which got him slightly wary looks from the wait staff.

They were correct to be wary, although this was a really good steak so Raiden was taking his time. It might even take him half the allotted hour!

(Open to anyone who wants a really big steak, or just steak in general. When in Texas, etc.)

"They don't have waffles," Gray whined over the menu. Was he wearing a brand new baby blue cowboy hat? Of course he was.

"Not everything can be waffles, Smalls," Raiden told him between bites. "In fact, some things should be not waffles. It's called balance. And nutrition and vitamins and all that shit. And also you should take that hat off indoors."

"Everything could be waffles," Gray muttered petulantly as he removed his hat. He hadn't known people still cared about that stuff. Was the absolute mess his hair was in really better? "Steak and waffles. That could be a thing. We have chicken and waffles."

Did someone say "massive steaks?" Here was Steve Rogers, prepared to take on the challenge on behalf of trust, justice, the American Way, etc., etc., even if that wasn't his catch phrase!

"Raiden!" he greeted, smiling. "I should've guessed."

"Steve!" Raiden exclaimed in return. "Ah, you know me. I can't resist a giant piece of meat."

Or a really big steak.

"Me either!" Steve replied, only earnestly.

Oh, Steve.

Raiden had been 100% earnest, too! If he had ever made a dirty entendre on purpose in his life, it would come as news to him. "And this is a really good steak!" Which he was absolutely demolishing, with time to chat. "They know how to cook 'em in Texas."

"I hope so," Steve said with an answering grin as he also casually demolished just entirely too much steak. "They take their meat very seriously down here."

"Yeah, they really know how to handle a big ol' slab of beef."
