Summer had gotten to the bar early so that she could decorate, because while she might be all about the big, extravagant parties, Stark was not, not really, and so she was opting for something simple, straight forward, and already fit nicely into the fabric of her usual Wednesday workday and the fact that he would be coming to the bar anyway.

So the place was decked out nicely with a bunch of gold and blue balloons and streamers, and there was a "Happy Birthday, Stark!" banner over the karaoke stage, and the zombie were wearing gold and blue birthday hats (there were more available at the bar if anyone else wanted one), and Tino promised not to be too annoying.

Summer wasn't sure she believed him, but she supposed only time would tell, and she had too much stuff to set up, anyway.

Stark was practically but not literally beaming when he walked in to the bar and looked around.

Today's kiss hello had a bit more feeling behind it than usual.

"Love you," he said softly to Summer once he'd pulled back enough to speak.

And Summer's grin was radiating with the satisfaction of being absolutely awesome at this and just really fucking nailing it.

"Love you, too," she said. "And happy day-after-birthday birthday party celebration."

She was wasting no time in setting out those shots for him. There were a lot to get through!

"Thank you," Stark said softly.

Of course, then he looked at the shots.

"I don't have to have gross things for my birthday, do I?"

Tiny caramel apple pie shot was not gross though!

"You don't have to have gross things for your birthday," Summer concluded with a nod...as she set the gross shot down. "But it will be there in case you change your mid or are feeling particularly adventurous."

Which, funny enough, after all those pie shots before it, didn't seem too far out of the realm of possibility, now, did it?

"I'll see how I feel after the pies."

He'd probably try it. Because he was ridiculous.

"How gross is it?"

And also very malleable.

"Oh," Summer assured him with confidence, "it's pretty gross. It has pretty much literally so many of the things you don't want in a jello shot. It's a classic. I will tell you this, though." As she was talking, she was starting to get a glass ready for the punch and poured that for him, so that when she dropped this little tidbit, she was also dropping off the drink. "At least there's no bologna in it?"

Which she felt was a pretty good hint when you considered that might be one of the guesses based on color.

Here, have the most cliche birthday greeting ever!

"Happy birthday," Rey greeted him.

The novelty of getting birthday greetings all hadn't worn off yet for Stark so it was all good.

"Thank you, Rey!"

"Summer dud good with this," she said, looking around.

"She did," Stark agreed, looking around happily. "She always does. And we went out last night, for a nice dinner on the mainland."

"You get a dinner and a party," she says with a smile. "You're doing great this year."

"Many happy returns, Stark," Watts said, with a lift of his glass in Stark's direction.

"Thank you, Watts," Stark said. "You're doing well?"

"I am," he nodded. "Keeping busy, more or less. You? Enjoying your celebrations?"

"So am I," Stark said. "Doing well and keeping busy. And enjoying this, yes."

He looked around the bar and grinned. "I like this. Even the glitter." He not so secretly loved sparkles, actually. "And Summer and I went to dinner last night on the mainland. With very good drinks."

"Excellent," Watts reached out to clap Stark on the shoulder. "Glad to hear it, friend."

"Happy birthday," Anakin said like he'd definitely remembered that.

A likely story.

"Thank you, Anakin."

For the present of his presence. Obviously.

"You're welcome," Anakin said.

Oh no, that was a terrible gift!

"I'm glad you're here."

Because of friendship.

"You can try the gross shot!"

Or that.

"No," Anakin said firmly.

"Thank you, Steven. Good to see you."

"You as well," Steven said. "Many happy returns and all that. Did you have a nice one?"

"I did. We went to dinner, last night, in nice clothes," Stark said, glancing over at Summer. "And now i have this as well. Much more birthday than I ever thought I would have, before the first one."
