Summer had gotten to the bar early so that she could decorate, because while she might be all about the big, extravagant parties, Stark was not, not really, and so she was opting for something simple, straight forward, and already fit nicely into the fabric of her usual Wednesday workday and the fact that he would be coming to the bar anyway.

So the place was decked out nicely with a bunch of gold and blue balloons and streamers, and there was a "Happy Birthday, Stark!" banner over the karaoke stage, and the zombie were wearing gold and blue birthday hats (there were more available at the bar if anyone else wanted one), and Tino promised not to be too annoying.

Summer wasn't sure she believed him, but she supposed only time would tell, and she had too much stuff to set up, anyway.

Anakin, like a good friend, had completely spaced on when Stark's birthday was until he heard it on the radio. So here he was! Stark's gift was Anakin's presence, clearly.

"Summer."

To his credit, it had only been Stark's birthday for a few years!

"Anakin." Summer met that greeting with a faint smirk. "How's it going? What can we get for you tonight?"

Anakin looked over at the specials and made a tiny face. "Whiskey, please."

"Oh, come on!" said Summer, after following his eyes eagerly and getting that response. "You're seriously not even getting one adorable little tiny boozy jello pie?"

"Probably not," Anakin said with a grin, "but make the case for it anyway."

"I honestly think I'm more curious about what your case for not having one is," Summer countered. "Because they're adorable, they're delicious, there's literally so many variety of flavors that there's got to be one you like on there, and they're only a bite. It's literally two seconds of your time for something that I spent a lot of time and effort into creating for everyone's enjoyment, and it's honestly just rude of you to just dismiss them entirely without a good reason. Like, I get that you put off this whole persona that you hate fun and joy and anything even remotely cool, but you do know that no one actually believes that, right?"

There was a slight beat.

"Plus the first one's free."

If he still said no, then he really was just a stupid old contrarian that she didn't have time for, bye.

"Well, if the first one's free," Anakin said with a teasing smile, "sure."
