Caritas; Wednesday [01/22].

In hearing that there was a cotton candy machine in the bar now, Summer was stoked to get in there and start sort of using it (to potentially nefarious purposes), but when she did, she discovered that it was actually already gone.

Naturally, she was blaming Tino.

"What did you do to it?" she demanded, pouting/accusing. Poutcusing?

One second later, though, she realized, "No. Never mind. I probably don't even want to know!"

She was just going to take some cotton candy flavored vodka and pour a few out for the machine in which she didn't even get to use.

Yes, they had some at the store. Yes, she could just get a new one for the bar if she really wanted to, but that was not the point!

Because it's there, so you might as well sing!

And even though the cotton candy machine isn't there, the bar still is, so you might as well drink!

"It's gone?" Stark asked, looking disappointed. He'd been curious to see what Summer would do with a cotton candy machine.

"But you're here. Hi." The disappointed look was quickly replaced by a smile and then the customary kiss hello.

The universe might have been staging a necessary, pre-emptive intervention.

"Not yet," Summer's usual response was tempered by a sigh and a roll of her eyes, "and, yeah, it's gone. Looks like it was a one-day only sort of thing, which spoiled my plans for my cocktail today, but, I mean, like, whatever."

Fine. It was fine. She wasn't bitter about it at all!

Maybe the universe was just delaying the inevitable. That could make things worse. Or better. Depending on your point of view.

"What were you planning? Something like the one Kitty made last night?" Something much more horrifying?

"Do you need a cotton candy machine of your own?"

"Need is a very debatable word," said Summer, hedging answering that with anything more definitive that would preclude her own cotton candy machine at some point in the future, "but if what Kitty did last night was some bright and colorful too-swert drink garnished with said cotton candy, then, yes. That was exactly my plan."

"I took a picture," Stark said. "I meant to send it to you! Here. You can see."

He pulled his phone out, pulled up his photos, and held it out for her to look at the serviceable but in no way artistic photo of last night's cocktail.

"Sorry. Meant to send it while I was here."

He'd been distracted by cold, clearly.

"You could have sent it," Summer pointed out, "but the phones messed up for something. But, yeah, no, it's fine, and that's still actually not exactly what I was going to do tonight. I was planning on doing something more like..."

Now she had her phone out to pull up the site with the recipe she was going to try and showed it to him.

"...this. So, like, I could have still done it without," cue another massive eyeroll, "the cotton candy, but, like, what would even be the point anymore, you know?"

"Oh I like that," Stark said. "Another time. I'm sure there will be opportunities."

They could make opportunities!

"Kitty's didn't have any blue. I'll try all the drinks tonight though. Please."

Because it's there, you might as well lounge!

Just because it's there isn't excuse for what you may or may not have been planning to do over here!
