Look, pink was Summer's signature color, but, after dealing with an onslaught of Valentine's Day merchandise hitting the shelves at Turtle & Canary earlier this week (which had definitely happened, don't even), she couldn't help but wrinkle her nose a little bit at the decorations already bedecking Caritas, as well. Like, she wasn't surprised, she just felt a little overwhelmed.

That, plus her weekend discovering a new position of On-Call Ferret-Mech Kaiju-Fighter, had her actually wearing red today, instead, which was still definitely in the purview of Valentine's Day colors, but also it was sort of testing the waters to see if her GoTron color wasn't about to lead into a new hue era for her. After all, what was red but just a more experience and mature pink?

She was expecting at least a few comments from customers, but she really should have expected Tino making a big deal about how he 'might need to go see the eye doctor' because something was clearly wrong with his vision.

"Tino," Summer, finally irritated to the point of doing more than just rolling her eyes, "there is way more wrong with you than just your vision, dude."

She was instead just going to focus on ~~harrassing~~ encouraging people to sign up for 3MD next weekend.

Rey noticed! But with the decor, she had to ask, "Is everything on theme?"

Like Summer didn't normally go for pink.

"The drinks are decidedly not on the same theme," said Summer, because there was a theme there, but it wasn't Valentine's Day, she was saving that for next week since it was still, you know, more than a week away. "But everything else?" She shrugged. "I guess Tino is really getting into the spirit this year, which is mildly terrifying if I think about it for more than two seconds."

There was a slight pause as she decided if she wanted to add the next part.

"And there might also be the burgeoning of another third theme," she admitted.

Another pause, before she added, "You know I have a theme problem."

"I would not consider it a problem, but a positive," Rey told her. "What's the third theme?"

"Awwww," said Summer, hand to her chest and giving Rey a smile that looked genuinely warmed by that assessment, "thanks. And, well, I guess I sort of have a new job?" She also had a job problem. "Fighting giant monsters in space with my family in a giant mech suit made out of ferrets? And I control the red ferret. There isn't a pink ferret, unfortunately, but it does have me wonder if it isn't time for a bit of a rebranding if this whole Space Monster Mech Fighting thing gets any bigger."

"Congratulations," Rey smiled, and had to add, "Can I ask how a suit made of ferrets works?"

"Thanks!" Summer chirped again, but she then shook her head, waving a hand dismissively. "And the suit isn't made of ferrets, it's a mech suit, so it's like...a vehicle. Actually, now that I think about it, you'd probably love it, maybe I can borrow it and bring it around some time, but it's just shaped like a ferret. And kind of moves like one, too? It's actually super adorable, so, on second thought, I think you'd definitely love it."

"I'm sure I would. Do you have pictures?" Because she absolutely wanted to see this.

"You know what?" said Summer, frowning slightly. "I actually don't. Not of the whole ass ferret, anyway. All the pictures I took are selfies with it, so you can kind of see parts of it here and there, and, like, a million of the cockpit, but not the big picture, which is a failing on my part. But..."

And so she pulled out her phone to pull up the best of the picture, with her posing as best she could in a selfie to get both the face of the ferret as well as her in her cute red suit to show her.

"See? And look how cute that pilot suit is on me, too!"

Rey peered at it, quickly decided, "I love this and absolutely want to see it in person. The suit is great."

"Expecting Gladio?" Stark asked when he looked over the specials board.

No, he wasn't going to give her a chance to answer before leaning in for a kiss hello.

"Cl--" Summer started, and then she was being kissed, and so she was going to have to finish kissing back before finishing that answer.

"Close," she said with a grin once she settled back and restarted. "Gladio-adjacent, although I'm not actually expecting him in tonight because he's apparently too good to stop in on Wednesdays these days. But..." And here her grin grew with a faint snort, "it's your best friend's birthday this weekend, so I thought I'd do my specials to celebrate some of his favorite things."

The Cup Noodle one was definitely meant to make Ignis twitch when she called him to leave a message complaining about how he totally missed all her awesome birthday jello shots for him.

"My best... oh." Stark's face went through a few expressions before he settled in and nodded.

"I'm... sure he'll appreciate not actually being presented with the option?"

He shook his head a little. "I'll try the others. Please."
