Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

The warehouse had a rowing machine, thanks to Anakin's last upgrade. Rey still didn't get it. She'd never used an exercise machine in her life. She'd never needed to. But if it was going to be here, maybe she should try it?

And about a minute into it, she stopped. Nope, still didn't get it.

"I know. But know that it's true," she said.

"Thank you," Anakin said. "The baggage...it still makes you doubt some things, you know?"

"It does. There's nothing quite like being faced with all your issues in writing. On bags."

Somehow that was more insulting.

[sith_happened]

"Massive bags," Anakin said wryly. "At least I could move the Obi-Wan one this year. Eventually."

[thatwaslucky]

"It's definitely better than my giant Ben backpack," she said.

There'd been a Kylo Ren bag too. It was complicated.

"How big was that one?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"Couldn't pick it up without the Force," she said. "Which might say something. I'm just glad that one didn't happen while I was out."

[sith_happened]

"That would have been difficult to explain," Anakin agreed.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm really glad that day only shows up once every few years," she said.

[sith_happened]

"It might sink the island if it happened more often," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm not sure what's worse, that or the day everyone tells the truth."

Which was a relatively easy day for Rey unless someone asked her direct opinion, apparently.

"Definitely this one," Anakin said. "My secrets are my own."

[thatwaslucky]

"And there's not really a way to hide from it," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Other than to stay inside and hope no one visits," Anakin agreed.

[thatwaslucky]

"How do you handle it with family in the house?" Rey wondered.

It was easy when you were on your own.

[sith_happened]

"There's nothing on the baggage they don't already know about," Anakin said, "so that's freeing, in a way."

[thatwaslucky]

"And because you've been through this before?" she assumed.

[sith_happened]

"A few times," Anakin said, nodding. "It was worse when I was a teenager."

[thatwaslucky]

Rey frowned.

"Was that before or after... everything?"

[sith_happened]

"Before," Anakin said. "Though the bags at the time certainly showed some proclivities."

[thatwaslucky]

"Is it prying if I ask like what?" she checked.

[sith_happened]

"Anger," Anakin said. "Grudge holding. Stubbornness. Arrogance." He smiled wryly. "Obi-Wan."

[thatwaslucky]

"What was that last bag like then?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

"Enormous," Anakin said. "The only one bigger was the one for my mother."

[thatwaslucky]

"You don't talk about her much," Rey said after the slightest pause. Maybe ever?
