When Summer came in and started setting up for the evening, she noticed that Tino was inspecting her tray of jello she'd brought in a bit more closely and more skeptically than usual. It made Summer feel a little suspicious about why he was paying so much attention, and, after some debate with herself about whether or not she really wanted to know what the issue was, she did eventually ask him what was up.

....which then turned very quickly into a debate about the fact that, technically, they are all still jello shots, and, actually the specials board didn't even say Featured Jello Shots, it said Featured Jello Periodt, and why was he trying to suppress her art like this with stupid pedantics anyway?

UGH. This is why shilling her jello art in other dimensions was so incredibly appealing.

"I like it," Stark said, nodding towards the specials board.

And then, a beat later. "Hi."

If Stark was still feeling any sort of uncertainty about the benefit of more casual greetings, then surely the added warmth it brought to Summer's smile would help nudge things more firmly into the positive.

"Hi, Stark," she said, as she dedicatedly started setting out his line of shots. "I figured you would. It's summer. It's ice cream ish, and it's boozy jello. What's not to like?"

"And none of it sounds... Gross," Stark said, flashing a brief crooked smile before second-guessing himself.

He picked up the blue raspberry first.

"Oh, I'm sure someone out there's got beef with root beer or Neapolitan," Summer noted with a grin, turning a moment to blend up the cocktail for Stark, as well, continuing once that was done and she was pouring it into a glass for him, "but, yeah, no, pretty normal stuff on the surface."

"Sometimes that's a nice change," Stark said. "Normal things. But I worry for next week now."

He reached for the drink and took a sip.

"I like it," he said approvingly.

"Again," Summer pointed out, "no surprise there. You seem to be in a pretty good mood, though. Nice day today?"

"I avoided Anakin this time," Stark said.

For the best, really. He would not have dealt well with lap sitting at this time in his life.

"That helps. And did I tell you I went to talk to Prompto? About dogs? I'm... thinking about that."

"But yes. Pretty good mood. Your day went well? And your party did, last week."

"My party did go pretty well, didn't it?" Summer agreed, with a pleased, happy, wistful sort of sigh as she thought back on it. "And yeah, my day was good! Busy! But, I mean. Come on, look at that jello, of course it was.

"And, no," she shook her head a little before tilting it in considering thought,"I don't think yoi did tell me about getting a dog. But that's....not a terrible idea, really. I'm sure it would be...nice," she offered it with a little hopeful sort of lift in her voice, a hope that what she said next didn't go and ruin his good mood, "to, you know, have the extra company..."

Especially if she did really go through with this whole new grand Ravnica plan...

"I get lonely, sometimes," Stark agreed softly. "I wouldn't mind company. But I haven't decided, really. On just thinking about it, for now."

Summer nodded a little. "Definitely not something to go into without thinking about it some," she agreed, but then she snorted faintly. "Or just get stuck running the shelter for a month or so until a puppy claims you. That's how I ended up with Pancakes."

"I don't think that's likely to happen," Stark said. "But this island is this island..."

"How is Pancakes?"

He missed Summer's cat, okay?

Well, of course he did, who wouldn't?

Summer shrugged a little. "Pancakes is Pancakes," she said, "still an insufferable diva. No idea where she picked that up from. And she's discovered she likes pineapple. "

Summer's cat was an excellent cat.

"Is that all right for cats to eat?" Stark asked. "I didn't know that."

"Oh. Are you, no of course you are, you're going to the party on Friday? I...am not sure if I ought to or not."

"Well," Summer reasoned, "did you get an invitation?"

"I did," Stark confirmed. "It was lovely, wasn't it?"

He would expect nothing else from that pair but it was still worth commenting on.

"I just worry. As you know."
